Fuel level sensor continues to stop working causing my engine light to come on. I am not aware if I will run out of gas or not. This repair process is well over $700 unless I do myself which I dont have tte equipment to take my bed off my truck. That is even more dangerous when this is a faulty part on Dodge part. For the cost of htese trucks these need to be part of a recall.

After getting the fca emissions modification pushed out by Ram/Fiat, I have lost about 20-25% gas mileage and power in the truck. The modification has ruined a great truck. Truck is now dangerous because of a lag and lack of power. Mod was installed in summer of 2019 and truck is now ruined.

2015 Ram 1500 ecodiesel message " incorrect def detected see dealer truck will shutdown in 500 miles" I have been to 2 dealers with my truck both times my truck has been at dealer for over 30 days. It is part of the ecodiesel class action lawsuit. It has received an emissions modification warranty. Dealer does not seem able to diagnose or repair the issue. In the settlement consent decree it states that if vehicle cannot be repaired in 30 days and buyback can occur. It has been 30 days twice at 2 different dealers. The truck seems unrepairable. It has been unusable since Dec 22 2020

First week of December 2020, I had a normal oil change. The following day my Ram it would not turn over. It was towed to a local shop where I was told that it was the battery (even though the battery was only a year old). Found my Ram VIN had long list of open recalls. I contacted dealership. Provided with loaner. Service adviser said truck was not safe to drive because of the egr recall. A couple hundred more miles, a fire engine would have ensued. My egr had completely failed, coolant had gotten into my intake. Parts were backordered because manufacturing of mods just began. 12/24/20 all recall mods/repairs completed. Dealership advised truck was safe and operable. Received fcas extended limited warranty. 2 weeks later coolant/water leaking from underneath. Found the coolant levels dropped. Contacted dealership, service at that time could not find leak. Told to recheck in one week. 1 week later, levels not lower but coolant fluid smell after shutting off engine. Told it was normal. Friday 2/12/21 truck started irregularly and gurgled. Found coolant had dropped significantly below the recommended levels. Brought back to dealership. Before dropping it off another mechanic found coolant leak dripping down the 4 wheel drive actuator and front cover with traces of it coming out of the water pump and valve cover gasket. Put into a loaner. I was told my water pump failed. Not covered under new fca warranty. All recall repairs/modifications did not fix issues. Vehicle remained inoperable and dangerous. Coolant never stopped leaking into intake and other areas of engine. The egr is a component failed causing domino breakdown of entire truck engine. Recall states the failed egr will cause thermal fatigue and high temperatures to crack portions of the cooling system (hence the engine fires).

Dodge/Ram has knowledge of a faulty fuel sensor failure on Ram trucks that can cause a driver to become stranded due to a sudden loss of fuel level readings. The sensor is prone to failure as early as 20,000 miles. There are lots of online newgroup complaints about this issue, and Dodge/Ram has representation on those groups, as well, so they are aware of the issue. My vehicle is just outside of warranty with 70,000 miles and the fuel level sensor has failed throwing a check engine light and a diagnostic trouble code (dtc) P0463 for 'fuel level sensor 'a' circuit high. The out of pocket cost to repair this is substantial, and the replacement parts are prone to the failure, as well. Https://www.ramforumz.com/threads/I-know-now-what-causes-the-fuel-sensor-failure.244588/ https://www.torquenews.com/3768/three-reasons-2016-Ram-1500-owners-should-be-worried-about-their-fuel-sensors https://www.ramforumz.com/threads/fuel-sensor-failure.272935/ https://www.ramforumz.com/threads/fuel-sensor-failure.250577/ https://www.ramforum.com/threads/fuel-level-sensor-problem.162558/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?V=mb1is9mri-w https://www.ramforum.com/threads/2014-1500-with-P0463-with-only-37K-miles.87384/ as you can see, this is a very common problem, and Dodge/Ram is aware of it, but declines any resolution or assistance with impacted owners. This happened while driving on a rural highway, happened suddenly, and left us stranded when we ran out of fuel. This is a major safety issue, and should be a mandatory recall item.

I almost got T boned/hit by a car when I pulled out into traffic and the truck lagged and finally picked up speed. Then my husband almost got us T boned/hit when he pulled out and the truck lagged again and would not pick up. I had enough time to yell at him to go and he said" I'm trying, I'm pushing the accelerator but it won't go." There was a safe distance in both instances to normally pull out but this truck is a real danger to drive. I thought I was crazy and just trying to get used to the vehicle I had just purchased. Next occurrence, I had my children in the truck with me and we had picked up dinner and milkshakes. I was going up a small hill and the truck lagged, yet again, when it did pick up it spilled the milkshakes in my sons lap. He was extremely disappointed and my daughter was tossed back in the rear seat. This vehicle is dangerous and I totally regret buying it. I feel like this was a huge mistake. To add insult to injury, it had a very loud fan noise that I was concerned about. Now it smells like an antifreeze leak but I can not find it. The temp ran hot and I immediately pulled over. I discovered the antifreeze looked low, we added antifreeze. The oil was just changed by the dealer when I purchased it. No fluids should be low. This was a gigantic mistake of a purchase. Now that I see there is a recall, I assume we will die by getting hit by another vehicle or we will die by fire, take your pick! I was a huge Dodge fan since I owned a 3500 before, this truck can not hold a candle to my old Dodge. I am extremely disappointed in the eco diesel!!

Fuel sensor failure, without any warning fuel gauge drops to empty while in motion, not knowing the cause had to pull to the side of the highway to see if there was a leak or puncture. Researching the internet this seems like common problem that Ram will not address.

My vehicle with under 70K miles recently purchased from a used dealer had a severe problem the gas gauge showed empty a few minutes after showing 1/2 tank I was driving to work on thankfully I was able to pull into a gas station and was not stranded on the middle of the road as to impede traffic and cause an accident. When I refueled at the gas station it showed it was not completely empty as I was lead to believe by the cluster. And through several discussions and diagnosing it was believed to be a faulty part in the fuel system that tends to falsely show empty.

On May 31, 2020 I was traveling from baltimore, md to san antonio Texas on ih 85 South near lexington, nc in the middle lane at 60 mph when my vehicle totally shut down to a stop. Traffic was heavy but I safely pulled off to the shoulder and called for roadside assistance. We waited 3 hours before we got a capable tow for the truck and the U-haul we were towing. The tow company towed my truck to M&L Chrysler Dodge Ram dealership in lexington nc. The next morning about 8:00 am, I called the Chrysler Dodge Ram dealership for the results of their diagnostics. Around 11:00am I called back to Chrysler Dodge Ram dealership. They informed me they think the problem was with the fuel system and they needed to order the parts and it would take a few days and that it would be covered under the emissions recall V08 warranty.

Exhaust manifold bolts are continuously breaking off creating health and environmental concerns. Exhaust manifold gases are leaking directly into engine bay around the passenger compartment. Unfiltered exhaust gases are bypassing the catalytic converters and passing straight to the atmosphere. Chrysler is refusing to address the situation and charging thousands of dollars to fix it every time it breaks. The issue also throws the vehicle computer into an open loop due to faulty O2 readings negatively impacting fuel and performance causing further pollution and emissions negatively impacting environment and health of occupants. After charging thousands of dollars to 'fix' the issue they merely replace broken parts with the exact type and material that failed previously. The manifold/exhaust issue is independent of any vehicle motion or driving condition. Running the engine in any condition will cause the failure due to dissimilar metals used and difference in metals movement as it heats and cools. Presently this is the 10th bolt broke off. It has happened repeatedly since owning vehicle.

The vehicle is at approx 58,000 miles and the well documented fuel sensor failure has illuminated on the dashboard. This happened shortly after filling the tank to full and a drive of about 60 miles. In addition to the fuel sensor failure, the check engine light is illuminated, which disables eco mode. The dealer wants $1000 to fix it. Not acceptable.

2015 Ram 1500 with 69,000 miles on it and the check engine light comes on when truck gets to a half tank of gas had the code checked P0463 fuel sensor level. Now I never know how much fuel is in the tank because cant trust the fuel gauge while traveling also truck wont start with remote start with check engine light on. From doing some research this seems to be a very common problem. Its sad that you pay so much money for a truck and have to deal with situations like this.

Fuel sensor unit failure resulting in vehicles inability to read how much fuel vehicle has. A known issue for year make and model of truck. Fca has failed to issue a recall which should have been done long ago. While driving my check engine logo came on and I got the error message fuel sensor failure. I took my vehicle to my local Ram dealership and I was told this is a common problem however if my warranty was up Fiat Chrysler will likely not cover it.
