This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Water is leaking into the cab of the truck from the back window. Took the vehicle to dodge and they stated it was an issue with the window and seal and it shouldn't have failed like this. Declined warranty because it isn't covered past 12k miles. Customer service via phone call on 5-17-21 stated windows are similar to brakes and windshield wipers as they wear out and that makes it not a manufacturers issues. The water damage is severe and causes a moldy smell and could comprise the live wires in the third brake light. There was no warnings and there isn't anything caused by the user. This seems to be a known problem that others have reported to the nhtsa and on message boards monitored by Dodge Inc. Seat belts by the water damage had to replaced as they were locking up randomly causing child restraint to get too tight.
I am wanting to file a claim on a 2019 Ram 1500 for a defective rear window. This is a known issue that fca has refused to acknowledge or resolve. The rear window frame is weak and cracks around the rear sliding glass. With these cracks, there is potential for water to leak into the cab of the vehicle. There are also issues with cracks and leaking around other areas of the rear window frame. This may be due to a faulty seal when manufactured. My fear is that this will cause mold to develop behind as well as on my rear seats causing potential harm to not only my vehicle, but myself and family. I also do not want potential damage to important electrical components that are located behind and under the rear seat. My truck is out of warranty, and I understand that there isn't much fca will do, I just hope that pressure is put on them to improve and develop a better design to prevent this issue. I would also like to see fca extend an olive branch so to speak to the customers who have this issue by either replacing the part, or covering a portion of the repair cost for those that are in or out of warranty.
I had noticed that the rear window on the drivers side would leak a small dribble of water after a car wash or a heavy rain. The vehicle was not moving at the time of discovery. I took my truck into meador cdjr in fort worth tx and they removed and replaced the rear seat and rear window. They installed a new window seal and replaced the rear seat. They covered this as a warranty item with no charge to me.
Rear window has developed cracks in the upper frame allowing water in the cab. This allows water to come in contact with the electronic systems on the rear wall. Which have a possibility to short the system and possibly cause an accident.
Ok we need a recall now this is ridiculous! give us a recall on the rear window because all it does is crack and leak, I am sick and tired of bringing my truck to the dealer for this problem and im sure everyone else is too so please do us a favor here. Second the manifold bolts breaking/cracking, seriously! that needs to be addressed immediately as well, thats all we ask for is for these two recalls.
Vehicle is leaking water through my back window seal, cab brake light and it has destroyed my headliner. When it rains or waking my truck it leaks every time when stationary or moving.
Washing/waxing truck when crack was found over driver door jamb where the roof and the door surround meet. Truck has 11,000 miles on it and has been well cared for and not abused. Zero accident damage. Fca has already denied the initial claim but it is reprocessing. Absolute textbook manufacturer defect, be it in steel used or welding process. Crack first found on 8/15/2020, no idea how long it's been there.
Water leakage into the rear of the cab. Mold started growing in the carpet. Notice it is mor prevelent at seam indicating its bottom up. Also, moisture present inside cab when not driven regularly. Multiple complaints located on youtube as well. Noticed rear cab looks like seals are not seated correctly.
Rear power sliding window develops cracks at the top on both sides of the center glass. Window leaks into cab when moisture is present outside the vehicle such as snow, rain or car wash. I am trying to get Ram/fca to fix issue but they are not calling me back. Many 2019 Ram trucks are having this issue.
My vehicle has been in service for over 6 months. They are unable to figure out what is wrong. My Ram constanly makes a banging noise while driving. They changed the entire front end and the noise continues. Also have a mildue smell and pictures of water leaking down the inside of the windshield. Opened a case with fca they refuse to buy the truck back
I went to open my tailgate and it can off the hinges and fell to the ground, pulled the wiring out and scratched the paint. Now my gps and back up camera doesn't work. Along with injuring my arm since I just had ligament surgery. It was stationary in my driveway.
I was driving the vehicle under ideal conditions and both sides curtain airbag deployed to include the seat airbags. The cabin became smoky, causing the vehicle to veer off the road due to no visibility. The vehicle when up and embankment and back down before coming to a complete stop. Consumer contacted the manufacture immediatedly and was told that an investigator would take a look at the vehicle. Vehicle is currentlly under the possession of usaa and is in the process of being towed to service king, 1635 fort campbell blvd, clarksville, tn 37042 (931)245-1616. When reach speeds above 60 mph or wind present, the hood flexes inwards. It creates a concaving high on the hood and covers an area of 12-18 inches. This can't be good for the hood or the paint.
