A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

2019 DODGE RAM TOOK OFF THE LOT IN DEC/JAN AND I HAVE HAD BRAKE SQEALING ISSUES SINCE DAY ONE. I DROVE THE VEHICLE THINKING THAT THE PADS WERE NEW AND THEY NEEDED SOME BREAKING IN. UPON MY FIRST OIL CHANGE VISIT AT APPROX 7500 MILES I MADE THE SERVICE DEPT AWARE OF THE SQUEALING. SERVICE TECHS SAID THAT THERE MUST HAVE BEEN SOME DEBRI ON THE PAD BETWEEN THE ROTOR AND THE PADS. DURING THE TIRE ROTATION, THEY APPARENTLY APPLIED AIR COMPRESSION TO BLOW THE DUST OFF. THEY RETURNED MY VEHICLE TO ME AND TOLD ME THAT THIS SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM.

FAST FORWARD 15000 MILES, STILL SQUEALING, ALMOST GETTING WORST. BROUGHT VEHICLE IN FOR ROUTINE OIL AND TIRE SERVICE AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS NOT THE ROUTINE SERVICE DEPARTMENTS PROBLEM. WAS INTRODUCED TO SERVICE DEPT, MADE APPT FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS AS THE SERVICE DEPT WAS BOOKED. DROPPED VEHICLE OFF, RECEIVED CALL FROM SERVICE MANAGER AND WAS TOLD THE BRAKES WERE GOING TO BE REPLACED. HAD TO ORDER PARTS AND IT WOULD NOT BE READY FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS. THE SERVICE DEPT PUT ME IN A RENTAL DURING THIS DURATION. RETURNED TO PICK UP VEHICLE AND WAS TOLD THAT THE ROTORS WERE ENGINEERED DOWN AND NEW PADS WERE PLACED ON TRUCK. FRONT BRAKES ARE IN QUESTION, FOR THE RECORD. PUT APPROXIMATELY 5000 MILES SINCE THEN AND THE BRAKES SEEM TO BE FIXED, EXCEPT FOR WHEN I AM IN REVERSE. NOW I AM SITTING AT 20K AND HERE COMES ANOTHER ISSUE..........NOT A HAPPY CAMPER!!!!!!! REFER TO ENGINE PROMLEMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These damn brakes have been squealing since I bought the truck. I took it back to the dealer 4 times and they were able to make it go away for about 2 months. it has been there ever since and it's irritating as f***.

Dealer would not repair or take any action as it was not repeatable according to the service advisor. Vehicle is now at 14K miles and brakes continue to squeal during light braking from 50+ mph.

Bought truck brand new in August 2018. Brakes squealed -- told it was breaking-in.

At 8K miles took truck to dealer - brakes still squealing. Dealer thought it was coming from rear brakes. Ordered new brakes and told me they'd call when they're in.

After no call from dealer about brakes, brought the truck in at ~10K miles. Replace rear brakes. Squealing seemed to be gone, but after further use -- still squealing. I figured it must be front brakes that were not replaced. No charge for work.

Took car to dealer at 15K mile for another look. After inspection and attempt to recreate the issue, dealer determined everything was fine. No charge for work.

I'm at a loss. I can't drive with the windows down -- sounds like metal on a chalkboard.
