While under warranty brought my vehicle to the dealer because I could not pump gas. The pump would continue to click off while fueling. Dealer told me that it may be the gas station that I'm going to and that they could not replicate the problem. Fast forward 6 months, the vehicle is now out of warranty and the problem has continued to the point where I can't put any fuel in. Brought it to another dealer and they said I need a new fuel pump and a new fuel tank at at cost of $2500. This should have been covered under the warranty but the first dealer was less than honest. I'm sure they knew what the issue was since there are numerous complaints similar to mine on this site. NHTSA should investigate and/or open a recall because RAM won't. This fuel issue isn't just related to the 2019 1500 but other years as well. Consumers are paying for repairs that RAM should be covering through the recall.
When refueling, the fuel vapor recovery system causes the gas pump to shut off after only a couple seconds of pumping fuel. This happens continually while attempting to refuel. It takes 20-25 minutes to refill the tank. The dealership says they have to replace the whole fuel tank to fix this issue at a cost of over $1,800.
Purchased a 2019 Ram 1500 used, with 43k miles earlier this year. Twice, the trucks computer, and fuel gage said I had more then a quarter tank let in fuel. Twice, I have run completely out of gas, stalling the truck, and left no way to accelerate. Almost causing an accident.
Difficulties fueling vehicle. Gas pump consistently shuts off after a few (2-3) seconds of pumping gas. Bought vehicle used, have filled up 3 times in 1 month and have had issues with 2 of the full ups.

The RAM 1500 Bighorn cannot take more than mere ounces of unleaded gasoline before the nozzle auto shuts off. It does not matter how fast gas comes out of the nozzle; it can take up to an hour to fill from empty to full going at.1 gallon every 5 seconds. When brought into the RAM dealership, the techs stated this is a well known and documented issue that a lot of RAM owners are seeing, but there has not been a recall on it. There are no warnings for this at all and it poses a threat to any owner that fills their tank with a nozzle that does not have an auto shutoff or with a gas can as fuel backfills and spills out of the truck posing a fire hazard.
Timing chain cover leaking oil for 2nd time with only 32,000 miles on the vehicle. Ram dealer repaired once already in 2022. Loosing antifreeze but dealer says the vehicle is not. Service def system comes on at random and says see dealer. While this is happening it does a count down on the temperature gauge in the dash and check engine light comes on. Dealer say they can-€™t find anything wrong.
Fuel injectors are misfiring veichle on multiple cylinders. Replaced all spark plugs and change fuel injector on misfires cylinder. Then 2 weeks later now another misfire on cylinder. Now changing all fuel injectors. Don't even have 10000miles on truck.
Fuel tank won't take fuel in tank at almost empty it will only take 30cents of fuel and fills up neck and shuts off pump and spills all over the ground
Just left my house. Came up to the second stop light, about 4 blocks away from my house, slowed down to stop for the red light when the truck just shuts off. The lights came on in the information center and stated to put the truck in park and restart the truck. There was a red lightning bolt displayed in the info center as well. This is about the 5th time the truck has done this, just stalling and shutting off for no reason. Seems to only do this within 5 minutes of starting the truck after it has been parked for hours.
1) The Fuel Pump broke on our 2019 Ram Big Horn. It only has around 40,000 miles on it. We had it towed to the dealership. They are going to replace the fuel pump mid to end of February due to part shortage. My wife was on the entry roadway to I95 when without warning the truck puttered and died on the entrance ramp. There was no warning lights, messages etc. Luckily she puttered to the side out of the way of speeding cars getting on I95. According to the dealership they have no idea how the fuel pump died. The dealership is the only party that inspected the vehicle. 2) The second problem we are having with the Ram, is the dashboard lights flicker on off for no particular reason. It just happens when it feels like it. We brought it to the dealership and of course it didn-€™t happen to them so they have no idea why the dashboard lights are going on and off. The rear defroster isn-€™t working. The battery died as well. We feel there is some type of electrical problem with the truck. We do not believe a vehicle with only 40,000 miles would have the fuel pump die. I know other Ram trims (2500, 3500 etc)have had recalls due to fuel pumps dying and dashboard lights going on and off for no reason. I think this is a problem that needs attention! My wife could have been killed on the ramp to I95
Will not accept gas from the gas pump and this is been happening for the last approximately six months the gas attendant told me that this is a problem with all Ram trucks
Fuel tank has a cap less tank system that sprays gasoline all over the person pumping it. Most fuel pumps will not let fuel into the tanks causing the person who is fueling the vehicle to be splashed with fuel. The dealership wants $200 just to look at it but a local mechanic says the system is faulty. The emissions are fine and the tank will fill at certain gas stations. There are no warning messages or indications of any kind. You start fueling and bam! You-€™re covered in gasoline
On 06-06-2021 my wife, daughter and Me and our three dogs, was heading to are first destination on are 2 week vacation pulling are camper. In about 150 miles into the trip started smelling diesel, pulled over on a narrow 2 lane road couldn-€™t see anything. So my wife found a road we could pull off on to check everything out a mile away, right before we made it to the road a (service electronic throttle) message came on, so made it to the road to pull off stoped and instantly smoke started bellowing out from the back of the hood. I hopped out and started feeling something burning my legs looked down and saw liquid aluminum dripping and yelled from everyone to get out, by to time we got everyone out the whole front of the truck way fully on the so I got what I could get out and my wife was on the phone with 911. Knowing that the fire department is 20 minutes out I needed to save the camper. Fire is past the fire wall now, pull the panel for the emergency release to put the transmission in neutral one of the airbags blew up in my face and couldn-€™t get it out of park. So somehow I shook the truck and camper enough to get the pin out of the hitch and somehow someone drove by and asked them could they help me pull the camper away, and we hooked a chain and pulled it away. 24 minutes later the fire department arrived and everything I saved from the truck was in the grass and burned up to hot to get close to get. So 24 minutes of hell was just starting legs, hand burned and contacts burned can-€™t see well and back thumping. Calling everyone like Ram, insurance company no one will help. So the volunteer fire department pulled are camper to their fire station and stayed the night there until are family could pull us back home. Then the nightmare of dealing with the scummy progressive fight for almost 3 months that would not pay market value the time of the incident and somehow took over my claim I had. I have videos and pictures of the fire.
I cannot properly refuel my tank. It takes me 25 minutes to fill 5 gallons of gas. The pump keeps shutting off like it thinks my car is full. All gas station pump are doing the same thing. Also my Navi goes off course. Sirius XM says my location is one place according to their system but I am 200 miles away. They say it shows it is working on their end but there is clearly an electrical or navigation glitch with my car.
Recently I have been experiencing issues when I pump gas in my three year old truck. When I pump gas the nozzle won't fill it up automatically and continues to stop constantly that causes to take forever.
The exhaust system builds up soot and causes the vehicle to malfunction or require excessive EGR cleaning. My vehicle has been in 4 times for the same issue. The dealership admitted they have had many of the same vehicles in for the same issue. It will freeze up when driving and prevent going forward. I have called Ram and they refuse to consider anything because my issue is a maintenance issue the dealership already told me should not be necessary until 60,000-90,000 miles and I should know it will need to be done every 10,000 miles if I do not drive more than I do. I was never informed of the issue when purchasing the vehicle brand new.
While driving on April 15, 2021, stopped at a red light and car completely shut off and would not start back up. Tried jumping car numerous times but still would not start. Had car towed to dealer and car still would not start. Dealer can not diagnose what issue is and can not define why car cut off in the middle of traffic
