Getting code 2200 every time you hit a bump and sometimes it does it on its own and and traction light come on and a message saying service anti lock brakes looked on internet and several people having this issue some even paid the dealer to do the repairs and a short time later started doing it again
I have been getting the "service electronic braking system" warning light, and when I brought the vehicle to the dealership for repairs back in November I was told that the parts needed to fix this known issue are backordered for many months. Checked again today and was told probably not available until July at the earliest. Upon researching this issue, I learned that this failure is common to 2017 Ram 2500 trucks. I need to haul some heavy loads with a trailer, and am concerned that this failure of the braking system is putting me at risk for an accident.
My braking ABS HCU has failed 4 times in 6 years. At 4495, 10,058, 15,198, and 20,052 miles (last week.) Included is the paperwork associated with those failures that renders the ABS, and potentially the entire braking system into a failure mode. As noted in the paperwork, it happens about every 5,000 miles. Warning lights appear and dinging go off stating the ABS system needs serviced. At times its intermittent and other times it stays on. My research has found this is a very well noted problem with the 2017 and 2018 Dodge Ram trucks. In addition, there is a safety class action suit in California. Last date it occurred is noted below. I have all the repair data available electronically. However there must be a glitch in your system. When I hit the upload button it does not allow for an upload. Would be more than happy to provide.
I purchased my 2017 Ram 2500 truck new in October of 2017 from Champion Dodge in Gulfport, MS. Since then, I have been experiencing a reoccurring problem with the truck's ABS braking system. I have had the truck in the shop repairs on this ABS system five times since I have owned the truck. The first two repairs were covered under warranty, the next two visits I had to pay for, and the fifth visit, I was told they can't repair the truck and parts would not be available until maybe April of 2024. The trucks ABS braking system warning lights continuously flash and alarm making the truck almost unusable. I am also not sure if the truck is even safe to drive with this system malfunctioning. I feel this has to be a recall or something. I feel that Dodge/Ram should repair this truck at no cost to me. I will try to add all documentation to this submission. Any assistance you can proved me would be appreciated.

I bought the truck new in 2017. in July of 2019 I got a Traction control ABS warning light. I took it to the dealer and they told me that the HCU system needed replaced. They performed the repair under warranty. In July of 2021 I got the same warning and again took the vehicle to the dealer and they told me I had to have the repair performed again. Once again they performed the same repair, after some resistance on their part. Now in Nov of 2023, I am having the same warning light and they will not repair the problem now with out substantial repair cost. I feel like there is some sort of a safety issue going on with this brake system and it needs to be looked into.
HCU and ABS module have failed multiple times. The first time was repaired under warranty, the second failure there is a part backorder and I could not get it replaced. My truck is now out of warranty and the manufacturer is now pushing part availability put to Feb 2024. This is clearly defective equipment but the manufacturer will not address if and will not order recalls and replacement.
Vehicle has about 60,000 miles. Has started intermittent service electronic brake and service abs warning. Noticed alot of information online that this is happening more than a normal rate of failure. I believe where this is being looked into...hoping for a speedy response. Thank You!
The abs module started throwing a code and had to be replaced in 2022 which cost me around $900 dollars and the same module has malfunctioned again in 2023. This seems to be a very common problem with 2017 and 2018 ram 2500 trucks. This module should be recalled for parts and labor.
ABS and Traction Control warning. Cruise control will not work either. This started at 25K miles, but the truck was out of warranty because of time. I purchased an ABS Module from Ram and installed it Dec 27, 2023 and I will have to take it to the dealer to program it.
my truck has 130,000 miles on it currently. At approximately 37,000 miles the ABS and Stability systems stopped working due to a faulty Hydraulic pump. I paid $800 to have the pump and control module replaced at the dealership. The brakes worked normally for approximately 20,000 miles. Around 60,000 miles the ABS and Stability systems stopped working again with the same fault codes as before. The pump has failed again due to a stuck brush in the motor. repair parts are not available and I've been forced to continue driving my vehicle with reduced braking and handling performance for the last 90,000 miles. The manufacture needs to get it together and produce parts that will not fail and they need to be replaced at their cost.
A Hydraulic Control Unit malfunction resulting in multiple warning lamps flashing on and off intermittently - including the ABS, the EBS, the Traction Control, and the Cruise Control. This is apparently a known issue with this model year truck and is inclusive of a class action lawsuit, yet there has been no recall. This failure results in unpredictable breaking and/or the ability to break and operate, especially in slippery conditions. This replacement repair is estimated at $1,100-1,300 on top of incredible uneasiness to operate the vehicle.
This has been going on since May of 2022 Every time I start my truck I get a warning that my ABS is not working and that my electronic braking needs to be serviced. While these lights are active, I have no ABS, traction control, or cruise control. After about 10 to 15 minutes of driving, the warnings go out. The lights sometimes will stay off for twenty to thirty minutes, but normally flash on between off and on at random intervals. I also noticed that I immediately loose ASB and traction control during emergency braking. The lack of ABS has recently caused me to lock up the wheels on wet concrete while towing a camper as a car cut me off to exit the highway. The lock-up caused the trailer to jack-knife, and nearly roll over an embankment. I
Anti-lock break system malfunctioning. This module has already been replaced once in 2021 by a dealership. Now the module is malfunctioning again and needs to be replaced. This affects the trucks traction control system and cruise control. Meaning the vehicle will slide during winter/rainy weather. There are to warning lights that come on on the dash warning you that this system is malfunctioning.
Abs lights keep coming on and going off while driving. New abs pump and module. Dealer says just put another one on at 1500 a time or more. Countless other people are having same issue
ABS Module needs replaced and the part is unavailable. ABS/Traction Control lights are now on all the time. Previously they came on and off and truck made a dinging noise.
RAM has 18,000+ REAL miles on odometer when ABS / TRACTION CONTROL warning lights came on. Which means no ABS nor Traction assist. Research tells me this is a VERY common problem on several years of RAM trucks. Parts (like ABS modul ) are nearly impossible to get and many replacements have failed thereafter. This is a serious issue affecting many RAM trucks. This is obviously a design / manufacturing issue with this ABS system. No ABS on vehicles made to safely carry loads is lethality looking for a place to happen. The vehicle has been looked at by multiple mechanics and any obvious issues were not observed. Wiring connections were in pristine condition. This vehicle has never been used off road nor in snow / icy conditions. This is absolutely a safety defect that does not even offer OEM replacement parts and when gotten, those gotten fail again!
Abs and traction control light constantly coming on and off as well as an audible warning. This is causing the traction control to turn off and disable the abs brake function.. code in computer is saying module issue. Known problem on this vehicle model.
