ABS breaking failure/warning on an intermittent but ongoing basis. Specifically, repeated failures of anti-lock brake modulator valve that causes ABS system to not function properly. Sometimes the ABS warning light flashes on and off, sometimes it stays on for weeks. RAM knows about the problem with part number 68143491AA. They replaced it for me once on 3/1/2022 at 50,650 miles but put in the exact same failing part. It started to fail again September 2, 2023. I had it diagnosed 11/21/2023 (as soon as I could get it in). It's the exact same issue. These vehicles are hazardous to drive. They have a replacement part now 68143491AB, but they refuse to pay for the repair leaving customers to to afford the expensive repair, drive the vehicles in an unsafe condition, or not use the vehicle at all.
ABS module and HCU. Very hard to stop and kicks off cruise control all of a sudden. It was replaced 1 year ago less than 7000 miles and it went out again
Abs warning lights going crazy kicks cruise control off and traction control and 4x4 stop working Constantly dinging and flashing don-??t know if brakes will work or not
ABS and Traction control warning lights with audible warning repeatedly coming on and then going off. Have no way of knowing when this will happen. It appears to be a common problem with similar vehicles. With poor results from dealer repairs. I am concerned about the safety and reliability of brakes.

ABS and HCU module system is defective. ABS and HCU systems randomly shutdown causing loss of ABS braking, traction control and cruise control. Ram dealership has already replaced these twice on my Ram 2500, service dates 12/19 and 6/22. Now it is required a third time with less than 49K miles. The ABS and HCU modules on 2017 Ram 2500 trucks are lemons.
This started in May 2023, warning lights "Service Electronic Braking System", "Service Anti-Lock Brakes". It is an intermittent issue, cannot duplicate. Appears at random, with Cruise control on, , if the issue message appears the cruise control disables. This can go on for several minutes, then all of a sudden stop. Could resume minutes later. Again Random. Don't rely on your anti-lock brakes, not reliable, or vote of confidence. As of today's writing 11/18/23, appears to becoming worse. I believe eventually I will note have a braking system whatsoever. Unfortunately I don't trust my dealer, or any dealer at this point for a consensus.
The ABS module/HCU is faulty just like thousands of others who are reporting this same issue. Tested with an expensive scan tool by a certified mechanic AND the local dodge dealership in Greenwood SC. Dealership doesn't have the parts to fix it and can't tell me when parts will be available. The warning lights on the dash come and go but are on 75% of the time. This is EXTREMELY dangerous because when the lights come on it kicks the cruise control off suddenly. VERY unsafe on the interstate in traffic doing 85MPH. I'm surprised myself or no one else has been killed due to this.
The ABS system on my truck is flashing in and out causing loss of cruise control and possible brake failure. I have researched on line and found that this is an ongoing problem for this year model.
HCU light cone on the dash and code in the ecu. No damage to vehicle to cause this issue. This is a concern that the ABS system will not work when needed. Dealer says there is a lot of issues with this unit.
ABS control module pump/Hydraulic control module. 49000 miles. ABS lights/Service Electronic braking. No parts available for repair. On indefinite back order from Mopar. This problem needs to be solved. Thanks
Problem #1- I had to replace the ABS module and HCU on this truck at about 10k miles. (this was completed under warranty). Then at 50k miles truck was diagnosed with the same problem. I had to pay out of pocket for this repair. I ordered these parts from the dealer in November 2021, and they did not get me in until August 19, 2023. I had to pay ($1152.33). This is very dangerous when it has this error it causes the service sabitrac and service abs pop up on the display nonstop with no way to clear it. It also chimes every time. it is very distracting. while these service lights are on, I had no cruise control or traction control. Problem # 2 Transmission over drive failed. I had to replace transmission and transfer case. This makes for an unsafe vehicle that could leave me stranded on the side of the road. this repair cost me ($7,500). Failed at 67,675 miles. Problem # 3 turbo actuator failed and had to replace at 68,565 miles this cost me ($1750). this is an extended warranty on the 2015 model year pickups. Should be all across the board for all trucks using the same design/parts. In total on just repairs under 70k miles I have been forced to spend ($10,402.33). This truck is not road safe at all and I should be reimbursed for all my money I had to spend. At the bare minimum i should be compensated for all my down time plus repairs.
The abs HCU has failed for the second time. This happened at 37,000 miles and has happened again at 61,000 miles. Factory mopar parts were installed after the first failure. Now parts are unavailable. I have no abs, traction control or cruise control.
The anti-lock and traction control light and service light came on shortly after purchase, this happened while towing a 10,000lb camper in the N. GA mountains. this was a challenging situation with that much weight pushing the truck and the brakes weren't working properly. After getting a code reader, I found out the HCU has been listed as a service problem. You try to find the part and there is a hold on releasing the part because the manufacture is having problems with the updated part, and they don't even offer the original part because of the defect on the original part, (part # 68143491AA) The replacement part is (68143491AB). Thankfully I grew up driving vehicles without modern ABS, If my wife would have been driving, or an inexperienced driver, this could have ended in a very, very bad situation. Why isn't there a safety recall on this vehicle? Why should the consumer have to pay for a KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE. just look at the posts on the internet. Even worse, you can't get the part to fix, every dealer that has the part listed says the part will not be released until February, and not until April for the public. ( but the website says they are in stock) You call to verify that the part is on hand and they said not until spring.
The HCU/ABS system in my truck is acting up and intermittent. Causing ABS to not work and making beeping noises on and off while driving. Also causes the cruise control to not work.
I have had Abs alarm going off on my truck for 3 months. The dealerships claim there is a nationwide back order on the ABS pump motor control part to fix the problem. They have told me the first shipment is expected in Feb 2024. This is unacceptable. This is a safety feature that is faulty. Also, unacceptable. Please advise why this is not being addressed and I cannot afford to park my vehicle until February 2024 and even then they claim they don-??t know how many will be sent to them on that shipment. I have paid a mechanic on my own to try and clean up the wires and components but this didn-??t fix it. What can I do about this?
