ABS System failure. I ha e been trying since 10/2022 to get repaired from several dealerships. None in Central Florida ha e been able to get the parts to fix.
The Abs module and hydraulic control unit have been out on my truck for a year and a half. No abs, no cruise control, no back up camera and no 4wd. Ram has discontinued the parts with nothing to replace them.
The service light for a electronic Brake System as well as the light for Electronic ABS system started blinking on and off numerous times. I called the dealer to make an appointment and had to wait 2 months to get it in for service. When I got it in for service they told me the issue. They said it will be covered under my extended warranty. However, the part is in Engineering hold and is not available for ordering untill February 22, 2024. I need my truck. Can't wait 5 months for it to be ordered and shipped. That is if they release for orders in the 21st. Now my truck is setting in the dealer back lot, unsafe to drive they have told me. This all started while driving. Fortunately I didn't have an accident or and incident before getting it to the dealership.
ABS and Traction Control lights and bells and alarms going off saying need to Service Right Away. Called dealer and told not to drive truck till fixed. but the parts are and have been on back order for over a year because there are so many trucks with this issue and its going to cost me close to $2,000. to get this issue fixed. Its a faulty item not of my doing. Needs to be a recall on this issue. In the mean time I am with out a truck.

This is an ongoing problem and it appears to be affecting other owners of this vehicle as well. The code is C0020-001. The ABS/Traction control light comes on - a message to service the Anti-Lock braking system comes on - and the cruise control does not work. This happens intermittently sometimes 20 times in a minute, sometimes it's 20 times a day and sometimes I can go 2 or 3 days without it coming on at all. It's very frustrating and unnerving as the cruise control just drops out while you're driving which is not safe. The ABS also does not function with this issue. This issue needs to be addressed. Additionally there is a parts shortage for this repair most obviously because the parts are in short supply with everyone needing to make this repair. There are countless other people who are having this issue besides myself. Please issue a recall. This is not safe.
The ABS and traction control light are coming on and off and malfunctioning with a dinging bell alert. With a message that says service antilock brakes soon. On wet roads the steering seems off and brakes lock up. Very unsafe, The Ram dealer said the parts to fix are under engineering review and not available until February 2024. My truck is a 2017 Ram 2500 with19,850 miles. I bought the truck new
Message reads: Service Antilock Brake System. Traction control and ABS light stay on along with chime. Traction control failure and failure of the antilock braking system.
This is the 3rd time since i have got my truck that the abs pump module has gone out on it and the brake pedal feels Spongy and brake is junk and the dealership has replaced it the last 2 times and now its one month after the 2 year warranty for the part waiting to see if they will still cover it or not
Currently 73K on the vehicle. "Service Electronic Braking System", keeps appearing on the dash indication lights, also, "ABS Failure". the problem is intermittent. Through out the driving process approximately 2 hours a day, this incident will start ad start 5-15 time during this drive. Cant't replicate or recreate the problem every time. No controls. I haven't notified the dealer, waste of time, only if you pay them for a diag fee. One doesn't know when a accident will happen, unfortunately I have no confidence in the system to protect me as it was intended
ABS light and traction control light coming on, cruise control will not work. I took it to a Ram dealership and it they advised me that it needed a new HCU, then they advised me that the HCU cannot be ordered until after February 2024. I cannot get a inspection sticker in my state (Virginia) with the ABS brakes not working properly and I-??m afraid the truck braking system and cruise control not working.
The ABS Hydraulic Control Unit has failed for the third time and the dealer says parts won't be available until middle of NEXT YEAR! This drastically affects braking performance and negates the safety feature increasing the likelihood of an injury or death from improper braking
Part Failure: ABS Module Part Failure: HCU Module Braking System Failure Safety concern This failure has been repaired 3 times ABS/Traction Light on/Warning chimes
I took my truck into Don Franklin Dodge Ram in Somerset, KY for service as I was receiving an audible alert and message on my dash to service my ABS braking system. I was informed that this is a known issue and may become a recall. The $600+ part was ordered, but on back order until around February, 2024. While towing my 30 foot camper a car pulled out in front of me and I had no trailer brakes. It was a terrifying situation. Having to wait until February puts me dead in the water for pulling any of my trailers safely.
The service ABS light warning comes on frequently. I took it to a local RAM dealer who confirmed. They stated that the code for pump motor general failure needs HCU and ABS module. They also stated that this has been a massive component failure across several years, and that replacement parts cannot even be ordered until March 2024!!! Obviously, if this is as widespread a braking problem across several models and years, Stellantis/Chrysler should do something to correct this widespread issue. People are driving on public roads without operating brake systems.
ABS failure lamp on. I was told by the dealer that my truck is safe to drive, and the part was going to be 5 months out. Well, I'm only safe until I have to make an emergency braking decision. I've been told I'm not the only one with this problem. I think this should be a recall.
ABS and Traction Control warnings cycling on and off randomly. Warnings are off only for short periods and are on most of the time. Cruise control is not working when the warnings are on which causes a sudden unexpected drop in speed on the highway when a warning cycle occurs. Two dealers have advised that the unit is faulty in manufacture and design but no replacement parts are currently available. Unfortunately I am unable to replace the vehicle and must continue to drive it without these important safety features.
Failure of ABS pump module and ABS electrical connection has taken place and is available for inspection. This failure has caused failure of my ABS system, traction control system as well as my ability to use my trailer brakes when hauling which I have to do on a regular basis which in turn puts all drivers around me in danger as well as myself and any passengers I have while driving. Problem is repeated on a fairly regular basis however I am unable to know when it will or will not occur. It has been looked at by a service center with codes sent to local dealership who stated -??those parts are under engineering review and are unable to be ordered through normal procedures-?? however he stated he would be able to put in a special request to Mopar to get one of the -??under review-?? parts sent to his dealership. Vehicle has not been inspected by anyone other than my local service mechanic. The problem has been associated with alarms, abs lights, traction control lights and multiple messages on my dash board screen hundreds of times while driving long distances.
