Whenever it rains or is high humidity, my dashboard lights up and repeatedly chimes with ABS lights and Electronic Braking System error. The error repeats itself on and off again every few seconds. It is a dangerous distraction of error messages. Since it is raining, all traction control and ABS systems deactivate themselves with this error. I spun out this morning due to the error. It is absolutely dangerous. This is the EXACT error that occurred on my previous Ram. This is a dangerous faulty hydraulic control unit (and ABS system). Upon a little research, I found tens of thousands of posts of owners being stranded or driving without ABS / traction control due to this malfunction. This is deadly and needs to be recalled. RAM is aware of this issue but has not issued a recall. It is raining today, and my RAM will not have traction control or ABS. This is unacceptable. This is affecting tens of thousands of owners. With upwards of $1,600 for a repair. Yet, the part can create a fault AGAIN within weeks or months. DANGEROUS.
2018 RAM 2500 diesel purchased brand new in October of 2018. Continuous issues with the ABS Module and hydraulic control unit starting at approximately 23,000 miles. This was unfortunately past the 3 year bumper to bumper warranty. This affects the performance of the ABS brakes, including the brakes freezing up in the closed position, along with a constant chime and notification on the dashboard. Upon doing research this appears to be an extremely common issue with the 2018 models and a recall has already been issued for the 2019 model. The OEM ABS modules have a 6-9 month wait when ordered and the repair is approximately $1,500.
Service ABS lights on the dash, bad pump, brakes locked up in two different occasions. Truck is at the dealership, however, I need to pick it up due to no parts available to repair. My extended warranty is about to expire in the next 4k miles and I should not have to pay for this repair out of pocket, when I took the truck to the dealership before the warranty expires for this issue. My research revealed that this is a known problem with these trucks, which is totally unacceptable for the price we pay to purchase them. This issue started at around 34,000 miles. ***Last Dodge I will purchase****

The ABS and traction control warning lights recently came on causing the antilock brake system to not function. Took the truck to the dealer and was informed that the HCU for the antilock brake system is bad. I was told that the replacement part is on back order and they have not been able to locate one yet.
38k miles ABS Unit has been replaced along w hydraulic pump. Just over 2 yrs 20k miles it-??s out again! This is a know problem and they will not take responsibility for it! What has to happen someone die because of the ABs failure?
ABS light and traction control light are coming on. Causing excessive dinging and cruise control not working. Also experienced flat spotting on my tires.
My 2018 RAM ABS warning indicator light goes on and off continually. Also the HTC control unit warning lights. Dealership has a back order of 12 months is not more to replace the parts. 123 ordered at our local dealership alone. Please force Dodge to recall and replace faulty parts at their expense.
The ABS control pump motor is malfunctioning causing loss of the anti lock braking, four wheel drive, and cruise control. The dealerships have no ability to get parts to repair and they have been on back order indefinitely.
I am experiencing intermittent warning by dash red light, warning dings & digital warning. Check brake system. The issue seems to be increasing in frequency as the last time I used the vehicle-it dinged every few miles. I understand that the ABS & TSC systems are inactive when warning displays. I called my local dealer to have vehicle inspected/ repaired and was told to come in for diagnosis but the parts for suspected failure are not currently available. I am in an area with rain expected for several days and am concerned with driving under these conditions.
Hydralic control unit is bad causing on dash safety alert for service electronic brake system alert and anti lock brake system alert. When towing will not have brakes to assist in stopping tow vehicle. The alarm constantly going off distract your attention from the road. Upon going to the dealer for repairs I was told they are on national back order and may not be available until after the 1st of the year. It apparently a widespread issue with all 2017 and 2018 Ram 2500s. I am unable to tow my 38' 5th wheel camper for fear I will lose my brakes on the tow vehicle putting myself and others at risk. The anti lock brakes not functioning properly could result in losing control of the vehicle when road conditions are wet or slippery. This loss of traction put me and other motorist at risk. Ram know there is a problem with the HCU. My understanding is they have had to completely re-engineer the part and as such has created an availability problem for anyone owning these vehicles. There are several blogs and forums online describing this as well as a class action suit initiated by the state of California. Would appreciate you looking into this matter and getting Ram to do the right thing. Thank You
The ABS and traction control indicator lights come on and off intermittently. This is a huge safety concern has the ABS and traction control may malfunction. This issue has been brought to the dealer and they replaced parts less than two years ago. It has reoccurred less than two years later.
In 2020 my ABS clontrol module failed at about 20000 miles. I had it replaced under warranty with no issues. In may of this year (2023) it started flashing on and off while driving again. I took it to the dealership and they told me it needed replacing again but they do not have and cannot get the part. It has gotten worse and worse. I can tell it is affecting my brakes along with I cannot use my cruise control. I have been back multiple times to check with the dealership and they tell me the part is back ordered. Last time I was there in September they told me it would be February of next year and that it is not covered under power train warranty so I will have to pay out of pocket for something they have already replaced once for same issue.. the brake light, traction control lamp, and ABS lamp all flash on and off constantly while driving
Abs traction control light has been going on and off since truck has had 15000 miles dealer replaced abs pump still has issues light is intermittent when it comes on cruise control shuts off truck now has 53921 miles on it and the dealership doesn-??t know why light goes on and off
2018 Ram Sept 23, 2020 at 15,000 miles ABS light flashed on. Code said pump electrical failure. Dealer replace under warranty. Oct 12, 2023 at 50,900 miles, service ABS notice flashes on screen. Dealer confirmed ABS failure but said parts were on indefinite back order. Said last one took over a year to get parts in.
Service ABS and Electrical Braking System lights constantly turn on and off making an audible beeping noise while vehicle is driving. Sometimes lights stay off for a little, other times it turns on and off repeatedly, and sometimes it stays on for entire time. Unknown if braking system is working properly if they were needed in an emergency situation.
