2018 RAM 2500 6.7l service abs system and service electronic braking system warnings on dash. Took vehicle to mechanic shop and scan showed code C0020-01. Symptom/Vehicle issuse: C0020-01-ABS PUMP MOTOR CONTROL - GENERAL ELECTRICAL FAILURE. Replacing the HCU and ABS Module seems to be the fix. I bought the truck as a hauler for 5th wheel camper and do to abs and traction control failure it can be extremely dangerous to drive.
ABS light comes on frequently and disables the ABS and cruise control. I dings each time and does so frequently when I hit a bumpy road. Ram says the parts are back ordered and none are available. This should be a recall due to the anti skid control not working properly.

Hello, I have been having issues with my 2018 Ram 2500. The Service Traction Control and ABS lights on the dash have been flashing on and off constantly. Along with no Cruise Control when this happens. This has been going on now for about 3500 miles. I am still driving the vehicle due to being my only work truck. I have been doing some research along with talking to the Ram Service Departments and have noticed that this is a very large safety problem that is highly known about that is not being taken care of. Even the service manager I had spoken with is amazed that this has not been a recall. This should most definitely be a recall and should be taken care of before more people get injured or killed.
Vehicle: 2018 Ram 2500, mileage 35171. Beginning in April 2023 the ABS and Traction control dash lights would intermittently flash while sounding an alarm. The message on the dash states "Service Anti-lock Braking System" and "Service Electronic Braking System." This creates the issue of losing ABS and traction control while disabling cruise control. As time progressed it would become more frequent and would more prominent during extremely humid or rainy weather. First call to dealership was told "We can only diagnose IF the vehicle is demonstrating the issue." At that time I indicated to the service tech that there are numerous national forums with the exact same issue. Truck was brought to dealership for official diagnosis: $179 diagnosis fee; $411.70 Labor to remove and replace HCM; $262 HCU (Part # 68143491AA); $447.50 labor to remove and replace ABS Module; and $388 ABS Module (Part # 68347098AB). Service tech advised me that all parts are on back order and I could possibly be without the truck until mid/end of August. This is an issue the manufacturer should be obligated to correct.
Driving, hit 40,5xx miles and ABS and traction control light was flickering on and off. Kept getting warnings to service ABS and Electronic Brake System. After 25 miles of on and off flickering and chimes which were extremely distracting, it turned on and stayed on permanently. I do not have ABS, Traction control or cruise control. This is a known issue with the 2017/2018 models, and Mopar does not cover it even though it should be a recall. Thousands of people are having this issue, and dumping thousands into it all for it to just break again in 10/20k miles. The ABS modules are complete junk
I was driving my truck home from Wyoming and my ABS and Traction control lights started to go on the Fritz which caused me to lose cruise control while pulling my camper trailer that weighs 10k pounds with my family in the vehicle.
My ABS service light keeps intermittently coming on and then off. Sometimes days go by without coming on. The all of sudden it comes on. Brakes feel like they are working but brake pedal seems soft. This is a safety issue. Vehicle is awaiting dealer inspection.
57, XXX miles on truck. 11 months out of full warranty. HCU and ABS unit failing at random times during normal driving conditions. Keeps throwing service abs, and service electronic brake controller. On off, on off, on off non stop, constantly the whole time truck is being driven its almost undeliverable. ABS unusable stability control not available traction control not available
On my 18 ram 2500 there-??s a problem with the ABS module and controller truck has 49620 miles on it I-??ve seen so many others on your website with this problem I can-??t see why there-??s not a recall from y-??all yet because clearly we LOOSE ABS AND A 10000 pound truck that is bought for towing and pulling gos into a full blown slide all over the road then off the road with my camper in tow with or without a trailer behind it makes a VERY DANGEROUS Situation, and don-??t know why ram is no fixing the problem
Hydraulic control unit has failed on the ABS system at 50k miles causing breaks to lock up when wet or heavy load also loss of traction control. Tried to get fixed immediately in April 2023 but was told no stock by dealer and still waiting. I feel that the truck is unsafe to drive but I have no options to have it fixed. I had a previous repair done at he dealer with the same issues at 15k miles while under warranty.
This is the second time I have had the HCU fail, first time was replaced was at 40653 mile (July 22, 2022) and now again I have the same problem at 46486 miles (Jun 4, 2023), less than 11 months after repair. I use my truck to pull at 12,000 lb. 5th wheel RV so beeping every 3 seconds, no ABS, no cruise control, no traction control is not good.
I was using my cruze control on the interstate in the rain when I heard dings from my dash and kicked my Cruze control off. It said service electronics breaking system and service abs system. It flashed my abs light and my traction control light. It cause my truck to start sliding and luckily no one was close to me and I was able to gather it up but my brakes did not feel right. From my research this is a very common issue with my truck to the point you can-??t get the part to fix it.
