Ram has ignored this recall NHTSA Recall#21v-880 /Y78 for the high pressure fuel pump in my 2019 Ram 2500 Cummins Turbo Diesel on several occasions. i contacted my dealer and they said they would order the new pump and they can only be allocated 2 pumps a week if they can get one. my dealer called a few weeks later and said they have a pump for recall and scheduled me a time slot to bring ram in. i did and halfway through the day the service manager called and said they went to do the new pump recall and FCA/Ram noticed them to not install the new replacement pump and gave no reason. my service advisor he was not given a reason from FCA and he said for me to contact FCA directly. i did and they gave me the run around and could not answer why they had the new replacement pump and did not allow my dealer to install. i have been so frustrated to the run around i searched for FCA rams inner chain email format and sent 3 emails to the top three heads for FCA north America and wouldn't you know it a lady called me personally and said that the head of FCA NA assigned her to me to get to the bottom of this. well its been a month and still no answer from FCA. i feel that they are playing Russian roulette with the recall on the 2019 ram 2500 cummins turbo diesels. my question to NTSB is if my ram stalls on rail road tracks and i get hit by a train is FCA liable for the death /injury of the occupants? thanks [XXX] cell [XXX] PS i could not find a form or way to submit and complaint about the recall so that is why this correspondence is happening. When driving down the road, intermittently my truck will lose throttle input. I get a check engine light and the electronic throttle control light. this is extremely dangerous when pulling out into traffic or even pulling out onto a higher speed road because the truck will not let me accelerate. It will just sputter and I have to fight it to about 35mph when I can activate cruise control then am forced to drive only using cruise control no matter what the road or traffic is like which is also not very safe. So far, I am at 3 service appointments over the span of about a month and a half, over $500 invested and the dealer cannot find the culprit or issue causing this. I know that fault code P2121 is set off but it does not lead to much.

In August 2020, while I was driving my vehicle at approximately 15 mph, with approximately 13,500 miles on the odometer, I noticed that the vehicle's transmission gauge was about 230-240 degrees. I pulled over and smelled smoke. Luckily, my passengers and I were able to get out of the vehicle. The vehicle was completely destroyed. I have video showing flames coming out of the passenger side engine compartment. I had previously taken my vehicle in for repair for recall W03 to have the transmission valve body replaced so the transmission wouldn't cause an engine fire. FCA had an expert inspect the vehicle and he found that "fire progression appears to be from engine compartment thru entire vehicle terminating at rear truck bed, " that "possible source of ignition is hot surface of turbocharger/exhaust components. - Most likely method of ignition is transmission fluid expelled from dipstick tube, " "origin appears to be in the engine compartment, " and "possible cause appears to be transmission fluid expelled from dipstick tube onto turbocharger/exhaust components. The determination of possible cause is based on: 1. Owner/driver's description of events. 2. Transmission of dipstick is extended ~ 27.0 inch from the fill tube." Despite this, FCA refused to pay me for my destroyed vehicle (or the trailer that it destroyed) because: "After the inspection of your vehicle, the information at hand would not permit us to associate the fire with a manufacturing or assembly error. We are sure you will understand fires of this nature can and do occur for a number of reasons not associated with the manufacturing process. Therefore, we must respectfully decline any assistance associated with this matter. Based on this, we suggest that you refer this matter to your insurance carrier..." I already had the transmission fire recall performed and my truck still blew up. Luckily, I was not injured. I am worried that if FCA does not do another recall, other trucks will blow up too.

I purchased a 2019 Ram 2500 truck, and began having issue with the truck dropping into neutral at just over 1000 miles. I went to the dealer and they checked codes, but I didn't make sure they documented it. It seemed to only happen when going in reverse and turning, so I continued to drive it. Then at 6670 miles it happened while driving and in an intersection. I had come to a stop at a light, then when the light turned green I proceeded to turn right. I got about 10 feet into the turn and the truck acted like it went into neutral. I was able to coast to the side of the road and the message that was on the dash stated shift into park, then into desired gear. I did and was able to drive off the road and into a parking spot of a nearby business. I brought the truck in and they opened a star case. Eventually they changed the transmission valve body and reprogrammed several things. They told me the problem was solved. At 9059 miles it happened again. This time I was backing into a driveway so I was able to pull out my phone and take a video of the flashing light over the shifter and in the cluster. The first incident happened on 1/13/2020 with 1520 miles on vehicle. The incident in the intersection happened on 5/21/2020 with 6670 miles on the odometer. The last incident happened on 7/7/2020 with 9059 miles on the odometer.

Having vibration issues in rear end not caused by tire balance(3 new sets of 4 tires in under 5000 miles). Noticed U-joints have no visible means of holding them in place. Was told they are held by injected plastic although they have grooves for snap rings to hold them in place. Appears one of U-joint caps has moved slightly out causing vibrations at higher speeds. Upon examining several 2020 three quarter ton pickups, Ram is the only one not using snap rings to hold U-joints in place. This is not a safe way to be holding a critical drive train component in place. This vibration happens at 45 mph and higher on different types of pavement...this is something other than your empty pickup rough ride. It sometimes will go away when I hit the accelerator or slow to under 45mph. 4 pics included show cap 1 moved out slightly so snap ring can't be installed compared to other 3(this is more than likely the problem). Pic 5 shows dealer saying nothing is wrong even though you can see clearly cap has moved out of place in only 5200 miles. Have more pictures showing this cap leaking grease too. Dealer said unable to duplicate in 4 miles of driving. That's not enough and more than likely not on highway at speed long enough to make this vibration happen. That cap moved out like it has will cause vibrations as the drive shaft is spinning close to 250mph or more while driving at 70mph.

Transmission intermittently drops out of gear. Most of the time this is when in reverse and moving backwards. All of a sudden you realize you are no longer moving backwards and in some cases rolling forward. On one occasion is has popped out of gear and stopped moving forward leaving me half out of a parallel parked space with oncoming traffic. These incidents occur approximately once a month. In every case on failure when you look at the gear selector it has a flashing light.
