The brakes on my 2011 Prius make a 'barking' noise upon hard braking and also about 90 seconds after engine shutoff. I took it to the dealer and they quoted me only $2,750 to replace the brake booster and accumulator. I was incredulous that a high-quality car like Prius would need such an expensive repair when it had not even been mistreated previously: I asked if this problem was covered by any warranty or recall, and the answer was NO.
I see from reading other owner statements that this is a common problem in 2010 models and it is covered by warranty or recall. The only way that we owners will get Toyota to recognize and fix this fault is if we continue to publicize in social-media like this website!
