In Canada, the highway gas mileage is rated about 39 miles per gallon (7.1 litres per 100km). Repeated attempts to come close to this rating has achieved 35 mpg at best.
With other new vehicles I have always been able to reach the rated mpg or at times even more...
Caveat Emptor the rated highway mpg is a fantasy or unachievable. Of course I was told that this number is only for comparison purposes.
Year round the computer says that my litres per 100km is 9.5. Looking at a diesel.
