Toyota is aware of the issue with the sticky/melting dash. Extended warranty 10 years. They claimed they mailed out notices about the defect, but never received one. Dealer never mentioned the problem. Now I have an issue with a sticky dash and Toyota refuses to repair their defect at their cost. Sending a single letter via mail does not seem to be sufficient for this big of a problem and they should cover the issue no matter when it shows up. I am the original owner, only drive it 1/2 the year and rarely touch my dash.

Last year I noticed my dashboard was sticky. After doing research online I found that Toyota was aware of the problem for years but did not notify owners. They claim they sent me a letter via mail notifying me that my warranty was being extended to 10 years to cover the problem. Yet I never received a letter. They do have my email address and regularly send me info but didn't bother to notify me via email. The extended warranty expired Oct 2017. Now I have to replace the dash at my cost since it is now reflecting light and making it difficult to drive. The car has less than 60,000 miles on it. Toyota should have done a better job of notifying owners and should pay for the replacement no matter when it is needed since they sold it with a defective dash. If any new lawsuits come up, please let me know so I can get in.

I thought that the dashboard was extremely dirty and cruddy. When I tried to clean it, I noticed that it only got worse. I went on you tube to see how I might be able to clean the "crud" only to find out that it had nothing to do with being dirty but did have something to do with a recall THAT I NEVER RECEIVED. It is dangerous because it creates a glare on the windshield that impairs vision...Incidentally, I also had a brand new Lexus IS350C that had issues that Lexus was unable to fix. I demanded that they either refund my money or replace the car...they refused...Enter the New Jersey Lemon Law. They fought it for over one year and LOST. I did receive a full refunds and they received their lemon.

I cannot believe that Toyota does not get the parts ASAP to please customers. They must assume that we will continue purchasing their products.

I noticed my dash was sticky and scratched easily and then started cracking. Toyota sends out a notice about faulty dashboards. I had already been dealing with the oil consumption issue and thought I would try to schedule both repairs at the same time. After waiting too long for the oil issue I take the car in for the dashboard in August 2015. They tell me a new one should be in in about 4-6 weeks. I called back at 8 weeks and was told it was ordered in September and would be another 4 weeks. Then I am told it should be in any day now. Then I am told oh they are taking a couple months. Then We have no idea when it will be in. Then they are national back order don't even bother to ask. Then today I call and I get 6-9 months on back order.....again ridiculous... and leaves me with a car I can't get rid of.

Toyota should stand behind their product, this seems to be an issue that should be resolved, Toyota makes a good product but, if no fix I will not buy anymore Toyotas again, I have purchased 3 Toyotas in the past 8 years. So Toyota Fix This or NO MORE MONEY FROM ME!!!!!!!
