With only 140,000 miles on my truck, the frame is totally rusting out, this should never happen. I have another vehicle same year with twice the miles(GMC) and the frame has no rust.

frame is rusted through frame is rusted through frame is rusted through frame is rusted through frame is rusted through frame is rusted through

After having another starter installed on my Toyota Tacoma TRD, it was brought to my attention that the frame on the driver side in the back was rusted through and the vehicle would no longer pass inspection. This part of the frame is what the leaf spring bracket is attached and it is a pretty good chance that the vehicle would buckle in a rear end collision. The other side of the frame is fine, so why this side? I called one of the local Toyota dealers and was informed that there was a recall but it is too late, so I am left with a truck that could kill me in a rear end collision. I wish I could just go out and buy another vehicle but like most people, that is not possible at this time. My husband could have received the recall notice when it was started but I will never know since he passed away last year. I originally bought the truck for him so for years all the information from Toyota came to him. While this is frustrating, I must urge anyone with a older Toyota pickup who has not responded to this recall, check the frame. This was a surprise to me and I wish I had noticed it earlier. For now, I have no choice but to drive it carefully and hope nothing happens until I can figure out how to get another way to get around. I am a landscaper just starting a small company and this was my work truck, which makes it even more difficult. I feel stupid for not catching the recall but for now, I must come up with another ride.
