On July 27th of this year my 2006 Toyota Tacoma had a pressure plate failure that caused my truck to have to be towed. My truck was towed to a local dealership who told me my clutch was burned up and would cost $1450 to be fixed and would not be covered by warranty. I knew this was not true and had my truck towed to a transmission shop who found my pressure plate had failed with no sign of abuse. I had the parts replaced with Toyota factory replacement parts. When the shop received these parts they called me to tell me these parts were a different design then the parts that failed in my truck. After some research I found out Toyota changed these parts and part #S in 2006 after I bought my truck. I found several other complaints of clutch failure on the design in my truck. Even though I have proof of this Toyota denies that there was a part change or problem with my truck and has not offered me any assistance with the $1300 in bills I have in incurred with having to change this part.
