I have had many cars and trucks. None of them had paint that did this. It started with a tiny spot... I used touch-up. Then it started happening all over the truck. It looks like dandruff. It's exactly whats happening to the Blue and White cars that Toyota is repainting... But not red paint. I love my truck. I hate the paint situation and mostly I have the lack of care the company has shown in resolving this.

This is our third Toyota and it will be our last. The quality is nothing like it once was. We had a 1986 Toyota Pickup for more that 30 years that sat outside the majority of those years. And, the exterior looked considerably better than the 2008 we have now. This is not an isolated incident. Everyday, I see more Toyota vehicles with this problem. I'm not sure what Toyota has change; but, it was a business decision that will cause your loyal Toyota buyers to stop purchasing your vehicles.

Took my 2008 Tacoma to the dealer after consulting with a body shop about the paint chipping. The body shop reported that the paint was chipping from beneath the paint and not an external strike from an object.

The dealer, before they even inspected the claim, stated the chips were from rocks.

Good Grief, I would have had to run through a hail storm of rocks. The dealer refused to even discuss the problem.

The roof is covered in rust! I went to get estimate and was told it was unusual to see rust in this age of vehicle. I started looking for same, in others. I saw 2 other trucks today, same issue, same color paint, same model/yr. I took it to dealer and was told it is out of warranty. It looks ugly, I am so disappointed in Toyota.

I noticed this problem early this year. I thought it was dust. But we don't get dust this bad in Central Texas. Looking closer I noticed how the rust had already spread all over the roof top. I wash and wax my truck about once every 3 to 4 months. I notified Toyota and all they had to say was get it painted save the receipt in case there is a recall.

After searching it appears the Indigo Blue color may be the culprit . I'm still discussing this with Toyota but also getting estimates. Maybe a different color?

Paint on hood started to chip after about 6 years, some was caused by bird do-do, others just 'erupted'.

The paint on the fenders where they meet the body looks like clear coat is disintegrating, has run looking marks.

Headlight lenses are starting to fog up.

I had a 92 Toyota truck that had the same problem with hood and top of cab paint wearing off.
