Toyota had a frame inspection recall for certain year Tacomas. I took my 2009 Tacoma to Toyota of Bedford (OH) for the inspection in 2019. I was told the frame "passed" and a rustproofing compound was applied to the vehicle.
In Feb of 2023 I encounter a difficult steering issue. A mechanic tells me he can't fix the lower steering because the frame is too rusted. Of course at this time, Toyota's 12 year extended frame program is over.
I feel that since Toyota passed my frame and rustproofed it, they should still be responsible for repairs. The dealer who inspected and rustproofed the vehicle said they won't do anything for me. I got the same reply from Toyota headquarters.
I have a Tacoma with 54,500 miles on it sitting UNDRIVEABLE in my garage.
Can anyone HELP?
