A D V E R T I S E M E N T S
The Daytime Running Lights (DRL's) on my 2010 Tacoma is melting both left and right headlight assemblies. Left side burned all the way thru and pieces have fallen inside the headlight assembly. Brown discoloration indicating signs of a high heat. My Toyota dealership confirmed there is a problem with the DRL's (----see tsb 0129-11), Dealer would not replace because vehicle was out of 3/36. They want $1057 plus taxes to repair.
I then contacted Toyota customer service 1-800-331-4331 they will not (as of today - pending) replace the headlight assemblies stating that I should have noticed problem during warranty. I asked why they didn't notice when they performed services on my vehicle. The problem is a potential fire hazard. A Google search provided numerous accounts and pictures of this chronic Manufacture's Defect. I have made no modifications to the electrical system or lights. I would like Toyota to repair the damage to my vehicle.
