Had a Toyota Dealer do a Factory Transmission Flush and fill in Transmission with fresh new WS ATF, They did it wrong, Truck would feel as if hit from behind when coming to a stop or taking off always for 4 months ,dealer thought is was TSB 0016-13 and R&R Complete new driveline from tranny to Rear axle Drive shots, yokes, u joints and center bearing, problem still persisted, went old school and did a Transmission Pan drain and fill, tranny was 2.2 qts low from dealer flush and fill ! I only drained 1 Qt??? I refilled with 3.2 qts ATF into 24mm bolt on passenger side at rear tailstock. My Problem is resolved and fixed, runs better than new, don't always trust dealers, they do make mistakes too! Couldve been very expensive repair job and payed by dealer after lawsuit? and Proof! I saved them tons of money ! waiting for Toyota to reward me??? We will see? Bob G. Eustis,FL.

2013 Tacoma PreRunner V6 - Problem reported in Nov @ 250 miles - now it's January 2014 and 5100 miles. Still has a vibration/shudder during up-shift 2nd-3rd and 3rd-4th. Dealer said let it work itself out while it "learns" your driving pattern - not so much - better but still occurs.

The tranny also shudders/vibrates when braking and downshifting 3rd-2nd and 2nd-1st. The dealer service manager rode with me this time and I was able to demonstrate the problem. He also (like other complaints above) said "most" Tacomas do that (I don't care if they ALL do it, it's not right and will vibrate until it shakes apart).

He "suggested" that there might be an imbalance in the 2 piece drive shaft and we made an appointment for a corporate service guy to check it out. More later.

Tacoma TRD 4.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 500 miles

During normal acceleration tranny shudders when shifting, clearly noticeable 2nd-3rd and 3rd-4th. Under hard acceleration can't notice it. Transmission also shudders and vibrates when decelerating trying to downshift- very noticeable when braking -like it won't release to the next gear. Also was told to drive it and the system will learn my driving pattern. Now have 1500 miles and the shuddering and vibrating still exists.
