When braking and coming to a complete stop, various levels of pedal pressure are needed. With 1500 miles on the truck, and it was purchased new, I am still unable to always predict when this will happen or why. My RAV4 has light but consistent braking. The 2025 Tacoma off road I owned had consistent braking.
So this issue is likely a result of this being the hybrid model. And I’ve come quite close to rear ending people over the last 6 weeks since I bought it. It’s noticeable when coming to a full stop and in those cases I’m one who eases into stops so likely gas engine is off and coasting in electric mode. It’s been quite close but continue to leave more room to prevent any issue.
Will be taking to dealer for service when it goes in for its first free service.
