This is the 2nd time the AC compressor has failed in 15 months. The dealer refused to honor any warranty, but the manufacturer did provide the part. I still had to pay the labor. 15 months and 1,100 miles later, the compressor failed again. Same issue, the clutch failed. Now the dealer (as usual) won't honor any warranty and neither will the manufacturer. The cost is $1,500 to fix. At the rate of a fix every 15 months, this can get real expensive.
Either Toyota is using defective parts OR their technicians are incompetent. But I am stuck with a truck, in the south, with no AC and summer is approaching. I just want Toyota to do the right thing and supply the part. The correct part - AND competent service personnel to install it! Is there a reliable compressor out there?
