Filled up the tank to travel out of state. On the return trip the truck would not accept fuel. The pressure sensor in the fuel pump handle kept clicking off. The only way I could add fuel to the vehicle was to pull the nozzle almost completely out of the fuel tank fill tube so the fuel could enter the tank without creating fill pressure from the gasoline.
There were no alarm icons lighted on the dash. I entered a description of the situation on the net and the problem and solution was known.
Brought it to the dealer and they agreed with my diagnosis of the problem. Also informed me that Toyota knew of this issue. The turn over valve was partially stuck closed. The solution was to replace the fuel tank at a cost of 1900 dollars.
I did have the extended warranty so the cost of the repair was covered. It took two days to complete. Got it back and have not had an issues with it since.
