I purchased my 2024 Toyota Tundra Capstone new on April 30, 2024. In October 2025, the vehicle began producing a persistent noise from underneath the vehicle after hard acceleration, which continued even after deceleration. The dealership inspected the truck and determined that the issue originated from a major internal engine defect.

Their diagnosis indicated that the problem is similar to the machining-debris main-bearing failure previously reported in 2022 and 2023 Tundra models with the same V35A-FTS 3.4 L twin-turbo V6 engine architecture. The dealership recommended either rebuilding or replacing the engine locally, as no active Toyota campaign currently covers 2024 models.

Because this is a complex twin-turbo hybrid i-FORCE MAX powertrain, I am concerned that an in-house rebuild may not meet Toyota’s factory assembly standards and could compromise long-term reliability. I have therefore requested Toyota Corporate review and authorization for a factory-supplied replacement engine assembly or an inspection by a Field Technical Specialist before any local repair proceeds.
