We bought this suv last year with a little over 105000 miles on it. We paid all most $5000. After 1000 miles or couple moths later transmission starts acting up. One day stopped running on middle of street. Then we take to transmission shop so they can take a look. They give us an estimate between $1700 and $2500. So it's parked on driveway since that day hoping for a recall.

went out of town while on the interstate i felt this pop and realized when i pressed the gas pedal it wouldn't go. stuck on the interstate 10:45 at night with my children had to call a tow truck and tow us to the nearest town which was like mayberry and stay the nite at a motel a rankety motel. the next day i was told the transmission was gone so i got pissed and thought $$$$. so i had to stay another nite and find someone to come and get me and that wasn't cool at all. so i made it home and $400.00 was paid to have my truck towed and tonight i crunk it up and and put it in gear to find out that it runs again. is there some kind of overheating mechanism in these vehicles that when hot is shuts down?
