CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2007 Ford Escape looks pretty good compared to other Ford Escape model years, but still has a trend of transmission problems, so it's not a model year we can recommend.
Also the base model Escape did not come with side airbags so it received a "Poor" rating from the IIHS for side impact protection. Other similar 2007 models like the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V & Hyundai Santa Fe scored far better.

Seems I have the same problems as others with Ford Escape. Doors at bottom paint peeling and rusted. Clear coat peeling off. Paint peeling elsewhere on car. Double problem. I have taken it to Krown rust proofing for the last 9 yrs and wasn't aware this was going on and they never told us. We discovered it on the doors where we don't get down under them to see. The clear coat we started to see. Now it is horrible.
I did call Ford Canada - no luck. Said do we have to go class action or small claims. The girl Kelly in customer service didn't care. I asked to escalate she said she would but wouldn't hear back in 2 days and assured me I would get the same response. Has anyone gone to small claims with this and how did you make out? Or do you know of a class action suit in Canada?
