CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2007 Ford Escape looks pretty good compared to other Ford Escape model years, but still has a trend of transmission problems, so it's not a model year we can recommend.

Also the base model Escape did not come with side airbags so it received a "Poor" rating from the IIHS for side impact protection. Other similar 2007 models like the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V & Hyundai Santa Fe scored far better.

Several occasions where I have been driving the car and the brakes failed to stop the vehicle. I have recently been hit by a GMC vehicle and considering the weight of the car it caused severe neck, back, and spinal pain. I have had severe headaches as well. For the positive portion of this one story of many of the faulty brakes by FORD...is that at least the brakes worked a little bit rather than not at all or I would have been killed.
