CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2007 Ford Escape looks pretty good compared to other Ford Escape model years, but still has a trend of transmission problems, so it's not a model year we can recommend.

Also the base model Escape did not come with side airbags so it received a "Poor" rating from the IIHS for side impact protection. Other similar 2007 models like the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V & Hyundai Santa Fe scored far better.

This is 3rd time having to take my 2007 Ford Escape to shop to repair tone ring. Even the mechanic last time I took it for repair said that this part should have been recalled. Very annoying and possibly life threatening as brakes do not work properly.

Escape XLT 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 25,000 miles

My toner ring cracked on left side with only 25,000 on the truck. Cost me $300 bucks to fix it. A year later same thing on the other side. I have had nothing but problems with the brakes on this truck. Don't plan on braking hard because the brakes slide. I have had the brakes front and back changed and still it wants to slide.

Ford needs to step up and address this issue. There has been a few times in heavy traffic that I almost slide into the car in front of me because of someone stopping fast. Defective product FORD!!!!!
