CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2007 Ford Escape looks pretty good compared to other Ford Escape model years, but still has a trend of transmission problems, so it's not a model year we can recommend.

Also the base model Escape did not come with side airbags so it received a "Poor" rating from the IIHS for side impact protection. Other similar 2007 models like the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V & Hyundai Santa Fe scored far better.

I'm at my wits end with my 2007 Escape. I love it but I also am being tortured by it. My alarm goes off whenever it wants, locked or not. At night I have to wait for the interior lights to go off before driving. Usually in the time frame of 10-20minutes. The alarm goes off while driving as well as the interior lights. None of these things are safe. It's quite embarrassing. My neighbors hate me. Its sad that Ford doesn't consider this a recall. My safety as well as anyone riding with me is at risk. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

There is an electrical issue car alarm goes off when I lock it , the door ajar light is on and off, dome lights won't turn off, the indicator lights that should flash when you lock it don't work and the door ajar alarms don't sound.

Escape XLT V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 90,000 miles

The security alarm on my 2007 Ford Escape started activating while I'm driving down the highway & while parked. This is very dangerous when driving and very irritating to neighbors while parked especially in the late hours of the night or early morning. I contacted the Ford Motor Company customer service and they said they were sorry but couldn't help me. I leave my doors unlocked so it won't activate while parked but when driving that doesn't always work. I refuse to pay $800 to have it fixed especially when the fix doesn't always work based on from what I read others say. Surely this should be a recall issue!!!!!!!!!!!!!
