CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2007 Ford Escape looks pretty good compared to other Ford Escape model years, but still has a trend of transmission problems, so it's not a model year we can recommend.
Also the base model Escape did not come with side airbags so it received a "Poor" rating from the IIHS for side impact protection. Other similar 2007 models like the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V & Hyundai Santa Fe scored far better.

I had just had a cv joint put in it and the whole exhuast and manifold gasket. When I pulled up to a stop sign it started to move forward. Then it came to a very hard stop and there was a grinding noises I've never heard before. I had to call a tow truck at the cost of $150. I had the cv joint removed and ordered another one.
When it was ready to put new cv joint the new one wouldn't go in. After looking over the knew one noticed the end of the older cv joint was busted off and still inside the hole. Looking into the hole there was a rod showing and that was stopping the cv joint from going in all the way. What pieces didn't get stuck in the hole are now somewhere in he transmission. Its looking like its gonna need a rebuilt or new transmission the cost being approx $3500 to $4000. I've had this Ford for 6 month and have already had to put all new exhaust system and cv joint and now a transmission.
I want to know who the hell is making these pieces of sh*t automobiles and getting away with not being responsible for their high priced products and failures. I've always been a Chevy person and I'm fixing to go back to buying Chevy only... Ford is said to stand for found on road dead and its true...Please somebody help me get this problem fixed..
