Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety. Notes: The 2007 Ford Escape looks pretty good compared to other Ford Escape model years, but still has a trend of transmission problems, so it's not a model year we can recommend.

Also the base model Escape did not come with side airbags so it received a "Poor" rating from the IIHS for side impact protection. Other similar 2007 models like the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V & Hyundai Santa Fe scored far better.

I got to work this morning around 8 am.. within a half hour of working a co-worker came to me and asked if I drive a Ford Escape and as I told her yes she said to come out to the parking lot to see my I arrived to see what had rear window had appeared to have exploded...the temperature outside was under 80 degrees...I had not ran my ac or rear defrost...I filed a report with the police department and they said that there had been no appearance of attempted break in...the glass was on the inside as well as on the outside ( all over the parking lot ) and behind the 2 cars parked next to me..glad that I was not driving at the time!!! as I looked this up out of curiosity on the internet there were alot more of these complaints...what's a consumer to do when they pay through the nose for a vehicle and receive such trash"?"
