Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

The gas pedal is getting stuck and not working properly especially during times when the weather gets cold. When gas pedal is pressed to moved vehicle forward the pedal gets extremely difficult to press down and vehicle doesn't move. Once it does work it jerks the vehicle forward in which if another car is in front this could cause an accident.

The vehicle has been experiencing a sticky gas pedal that is difficult to push to accelerate in cold weather. Driving the vehicle is difficult in traffic due to the inability to accelerate. The gas pedal has to be stomped in order to brake it loose.

Gas pedal sticks and when you push it, the vehicle will not go. After pumping it a few times, the car goes forward very fast. When pushing the gas pedal, you don't know if the car will not move or if it will lurch forward.

After years of intermittent problems with my gas pedal in cold weather - sticking, high idle, not accelerating etc... I finally took the vehicle into the local Ford dealer. I've been told the throttle body needs to be replaced due to a "carbon build up"! I mentioned that this has been happening since I purchased the vehicle and getting worse. I mentioned the numerous complaints recorded however the dealership (pocorro Ford racine Wisconsin) is not willing to admit it's a problem with the part from day one!

When the temperatures drop to below 25 degrees - the accelerator / gas pedal will often "freeze" and not allow acceleration and/or will stay depressed even with application of the brake (car still stops) and idles very high when in neutral. When starting from a traffic light at times the vehicle will not accelerate properly.

Throttle sticks shut when outside temperature falls below 30 degrees. Have to feel around for right spot to get throttle to move and vehicle to drive. Had throttle cable replaced once by Ford, has done this every winter since then. This year being worse then normal and got stuck so pedal wouldn't move at all.

Problem with vehicle speed control my 2008 Escape (not hybrid) 2.3L XLT began having issues where I would get a sticky gas pedal. It would sometimes take some jiggling to get the gas pedal to depress so that I could accelerate. I cleaned out the throttle body and the issue was resolved for about a month. We recently had some cold weather in the 10 - 30 degree range in which my gas pedal started acting up again. It got so bad to where I could not depress the gas petal intermittently. When the gas pedal would depress my car would jolt forward like too much gas was applied. The issue seemed to dissipate if I let the car warm up for 30 minutes before driving. I purchased a new throttle body from courtesy Ford for $278 installation was quoted as $386. I opted to have my brother install it for me. It has been 10 days since installation and the issue seems to be resolved. I have not had any issues since replacing the throttle body but I still do not trust the car. I hesitate to take my family in the car and am thinking about getting rid of it for something else. This issue is a safety hazard and should be recalled by Ford before someone gets hurt or killed.

Accelerator pedal sticks upon attempting to accelerate. This problem has been on and off for the last six months, but has worsened. Last incident (12/14/13) pedal completely stuck to floor. Contacted dealer and was advised of a $70 diagnostic fee and deductible. Prior to this incident from August 2011 to August 2013 experienced three incidents of steering column locking, column did not respond to keys, keys would not unlock doors manually or with clicker, and ignition switch would not turn when key is inserted. Dealer replaced steering column (2011), but problem returned on two separate occasions within two years. On last two visits to dealer regarding ignition problem - dealer could not verify problem existed and deemed the battery as problem. Dealer replaced my newly installed battery (less than a year old) with their battery without my consent and required me to pay for unapproved battery - which I had them to remove, and reinstall my original battery that worked fine. Called on Ford dealer on 12/16/13 regarding incident of pedal sticking, and received head wrenching response. Was informed that my car was not on the list for recalls eventhough Ford just paid a hefty $17+ million fine for not recalling these Ford for sticking gas pedals!

I was driving to work and exiting off the high way as I turned the corner my accelerator pedal broke off and was laying on the floor. Luckily I was turning on to a residential street and I could stop in front of some houses, but I had to have my car towed to the Ford repair shop which there is was told my warranty had just expired and I had to come out the pocket with $230 and that their had been no recalls on the Ford.

It was approximately 45 degrees outside and I was driving down a road at the posted speed limit of 50 mph and took my foot off of the throttle. I attempted to get back up to speed and the throttle was locked shut and I could not accelerate at all. This happened repeatedly until the engine warmed up. It has continued intermittently since that time and yesterday was so severe, I could not move from a stop sign. I went to the dealership and they wanted to charge me a total of $385 to replace the throttle body. Now I see that there was a recall and I am feeling very ripped off. Ford should pay for this manufacturing/design problem.

May 30th, 2012 2008 Ford Escape stopped at a stop light, gas pedal was stuck rendering vehicle unable to move. Mileage was approximately 70,000 miles. Had vehicle towed to local Ford dealership. They replaced the entire pedal assembly. Within about 3 months, the pedal seemed to start catching again. Problem is intermitted not continuous but very dangerous in heavy traffic. Owner must press firmly to get the gas pedal to work which causes the SUV to leap forward. Just over a year after the pedal assembly was replace, it is being replacing again due to the same sticking problem.

The gas pedal sticks. I have been told it is most likely the throttle body. It is getting progressively worse and I fear it may lead to an accident if it is not repaired.
