Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. The contact owns a 2001 Ford Expedition. While the contact was backing up the vehicle at an unknown speed, the brake pedal simply fell off. The brake pedal was reattached by a mechanic. The contact feels that this is a safety issue because the failure could have occurred while she was driving, resulting in a serious crash. The current and failure mileages were 82,208. The brake pedal separated from its linkage. This occurred while driving. As a result, consumer was unable to depress the brake pedal when needed. This caused the vehicle to impact a curb. Police inspector indicated that it was due to a manufacturing defect.
