A lot of money to pay for a car with transmission problems starting at 4,000 miles! It has been at dealer for over a week without a solution.

Expedition Limited 4WD 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 19,250 miles

Have owned this vehicle since it was new. For the first year, there really weren't any issues. As of 6 months ago, started having a stuttering or slipping when going into 4th and 5th gears. Dealer advised at that time they reset the cpu (a factory reset). Was advised that the first 2k would result in a learning mode which may still have some issues.

Progressively since that time and now 4k miles later, I have a vibration and grumbling noise when moving through 3rd , 4th, and 5th. Once in 6th it appears to be ok. The noises have continued and begin to now result in a loss of power and unsteady or unsure acceleration. Now, awaiting the dealer to pull the transmission and order parts. Likely fix will be at least 2 weeks. Additionally, they don't have any loaner cars.

Expedition Platinum V6 Ecoboost

  • Automatic transmission
  • 4,000 miles

Recently purchased a 2019 Expedition Platinum. When initially pressing the gas between gears 3-5 it frequently seems to completely lose power for a few seconds and stops accelerating. Since this occurs when initially pulling into a street or highway, it is very noticeable as I have to step on the gas rapidly to avoid an accident. Took to dealer and told normal on the new 10 speed transmission. Always owned f150 previous to this vehicle and never had issues with acceleration.

Ford bought my 2018 back with the same issue. The ‘18 eventually stuck in park and would not move until it was towed to the dealer. Dealer was clueless on the issue and suggested a lemon buyback. Got ripped on that deal as the dealer and Ford pointed fingers. Ford used a ridiculous formula to buy back their pos. Finally got it done with the help of the service manager. Drove off with the new 2019. It slips/loses power and started shortly after delivery. Service dept gave me a lame excuse that the vehicle was actually learning drive habits and it would go away. Has 2k miles and slips all the time in 2nd/3rd gear. Wow! This is their SUV flagship. Customer service was abysmal. Ford could not care less.

Btw, try getting in touch with someone at corporate. Laughable. Never again.
