Altima SL 4 cyl
- Automatic transmission
- 35,000 miles
I have a 2005 Altima 4 cylinder I purchased used last yr with 34,000 miles on it...I noticed a light pinging or knocking noise when i would accelerate slowly, once the car warms up or on warm or hot days.I took back to dealer they could not duplicate the sound and then a friend mention it sounds like bad gas,so i put a Lucas fuel treatment in the tank and it seemed to get better at least it got me thru the summer. This yr i I noticed it coming back more consistent and louder. I've gone to several shops and everyone hears it but no one knows what it is, I'm stuck paying for this car and a extended warr that cant help. Please any suggestions or HELP

Altima 2.5L
My mechanic said he could not fix my motor noise. He said we had to take it to Nissan. I called Nissan on two occasions. The first call told me to take it to a Nissan Dealer. I did. This is where it is now 3 weekis later. They warranty has passed and Nissan USA ask me to furnish them with maintenance report. I did. It shows that at 56,000 Nissan had a recall and I took it to a Nissan Dealer that replaced a part and up dated my record complete with everything due. I have only driven it 18,ooo more miles and the Engine is Knocking and is unsafe to drive. I just received a call from Nissan USA stating that they will not be involved in looking at my car because of their Warranty. I told them it only has 74.000 miles and it was given a clean bill at 56,000 by a dealer. The records I sent them shows proper care in oil changes etc every 300 plus mile. Only six. I am still paying on this car. I have a 1998 Alitma with over 150,000 Miles and have never had a problem. How can Nissan turn their back on my problem. Do they not make cars motors that run over 74,000 miles.
