CarComplaints.com Notes: 2015 Acura TLX owners just want a transmission that can get from 1st to 5th gear without feeling like a washing machine full of bricks. TLX V6

This is the 3rd major issue I've had with my Acura TLX. First, the transmission needed to be replaced at 40,000 after I complained about its performance from the start. Second, at about 85,000 miles, I needed a new radiator as it was leaking all over the place (I routinely had the radiator flushed and filled with new coolant). Now, the heater is not working and they are telling me they need to replace the heater box (equivalent to furnace/fan unit in a home, so they say).

They would need to remove the dashboard and the estimated cost is anywhere from $1000-$2000. It's just a matter of time until problems 4, 5, and 6 come up, so I am asking them to admit I got a lemon and to work with me on getting rid of this car and replacing it with something new(er).

TLX 4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 5 miles

The day I purchased it started, driving home we had the temp set 82 and it was blowing cool air. The dealer was called but no one was there to help. I have had the car at two dealers seven times and 17 calls and no fix. The latest thing that happens with the TLX is that the temp gage never moves off of C... ?. The climate setting had been locked on floor/def, but now it is locked on floor. (can't change it). If on a long drive and set at 78 auto fan floor/def, I have to wear gloves because the wheel is so cold ( outside temp 28). The dealer said that this is normal ???? DO YOU BELIEVE IT !

TLX Tech I4

  • Automatic transmission

The Acura TLX has a design flaw in the heater/Climate Control system that Acura has failed to address and is currently ignoring the fact that there is a problem. There is an 8 degree difference on the driver side and passenger side of my car at the dealership. My hands and upper body are cold when I have the car set at 75 degrees when it is set on the heater (lower vent) setting.

I have talked to both the the service department of the dealership and Acura Client Relations. Dealer can't help. Acura claims there is no problem. They all work (don't work) that way. I'm going for the Texas Lemon Law. Will not buy another Acura.
