CarComplaints.com Seal Of This Might Hurt

CarComplaints.com Notes: 2015 Acura TLX owners just want a transmission that can get from 1st to 5th gear without feeling like a washing machine full of bricks. A class-action lawsuit wants answers for why the car’s transmission jerks and hesitates just months after the transmissions were recalled and replaced for not being able to shift into park.

Noticed in the last 2 years the car does not accelerate as in the first 2 years. Now it takes some time to react on a straight line but most often in curves. This is not acceptable since I do not plan to change my car every two years. This is not a smartphone, this is preatty expensive.

Scared! Never know when car will NOT move forward. Has placed me in extremely unsafe situations. If I had not been a very good long time driver (55 years) I could have panicked. Inexperienced, physically compromised, distracted driver would be a safety hazard to themselves and other drivers on the roads.

When pulling out into traffic or trying to accelerate while already moving, car seems to go into neutral and does not accelerate. The transmission seems confused and the engine revs, but the car does not accelerate. This is very dangerous and leaves me in the way of oncoming traffic. Extremely scary. I can't believe I haven't been hit yet! When I took the car to Acura, they swore they've never heard of this problem before, but judging by the amount of complaints I see online, this was a flat out lie! My husband rode with the tech and he was able to replicate the problem with the tech in the car, but when I got the paperwork back, the tech wrote that he didn't experience any problems. I wholeheartedly believe that Acura is instructing the techs to deny seeing/feeling a problem because there is a current class action lawsuit. My car has been in service for 7 days now and I'm driving a loaner TLX from the dealer and guess what it does? Neutrals just like my car!

Took the car in got it up to date, told the dealer I didn't want the car back till it was fixed. After them having it for a week I got it back and nothing was fixed and the car is as annoying as before. I hate the car, I want my 2011 Acura TL back

TLX 2.4L 4cyc

  • Automatic transmission

Since I have gotten this car I have had issues with the car not wanting to go from a stop at times. This can be really dangerous especially if you are trying to merge into traffic. The car will usually rev when this happens and then after a few seconds, it will start to go. It seems to happen more when the car and the weather is cold, but that is not always a factor. I have had the car into the dealership and was told they did a computer update after I insisted there was a problem and made them call Acura. The update did not fix the problem.

This problem is the third different problem I have had on this brand-new car. The most common one I have had is pressing the gas pedal from a stopped position and the car does nothing. No movement, no engine revving. After a couple of seconds it goes. I have also had the transmission make a loud sound when slowly leaving a stopped position, then a violent jerk. This new problem is like the first, only it revs but still goes nowhere. Acura is supposedly looking into it.

I had problems the next day (Thanksgiving) after I bought it.
