The contact owns a 2013 BMW X5. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle, the parking brake warning light illuminated continuously. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the parking brake needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided the contact with a case number. The approximate failure mileage was 49,000.
