This is a very common issue with BMWs manufactured between 2017 and 2023. I purchased the car new and with an extended warranty, but the service department told me it's not covered, even though they acknowledge it's clearly an insulation defect. The diagnosis and repair will cost me over $4k. This is my third and likely last BMW (I was leasing 228i and 740i before), as this situation clearly demonstrates the automaker's lack of respect for its loyal customers.
