The exhaust pipes on my BMW X6 caused a severe burn to lower leg after I inadvertently touched the pipe when removing groceries from the rear hatch. The tip of the exhaust pipes extends out from the rear bumper approximately 1 inch. The exhaust pipes are located on both the right and left rear side of the vehicle. It appears as if the exhaust pipes are under the bumper when you-??re standing over the pipes. No warning lights were visible on the dashboard indicating the exhaust pipes were hot. At this time it-??s unknown if this vehicle has been inspected by BMW Inc. for exhaust burns.
