I went to start my car and it wouldn't start. Had to tow it to mechanic. They said they were able to get the car started after hitting the fuel tank with a rubber mallet. They suspect this is because of either a bad fuel pump, or a loose connection. Either way, they told me to take it to the dealership!
Fuel pumps failed twice, both times in remote areas of the Rockies. Both problems could not be diagnosed on the computer, but only by manual inspection. The first time the screen on the bottom of the pump collapsed, blocking the pump, second time was an unknown cause.
