This is the fifth control panel replaced in this vehicle in the last 35k miles. If the car is driven with the window open at all in any kind of a wet condition, water from the windshield runs in the window into the control shorting it out.

This last time, the control panel caught fire while driving the car on the freeway, filling the car with smoke. This nearly caused an accident with a semi as I pulled over while trying to avoid the flames at my left elbow. Once stopped I used a screwdriver I had handy to pull the control panel out of the now melting door panel. Wearing gloves I pulled the control free of the wiring harness which stopped the flames. This could of easily killed me and my family, either by the near miss with a semi or being engulfed in the burning car.

The control panel was 80 bucks, again. The local Napa keeps them in stock they fail so often. The door panel was $75 at a junk yard. Lots of these cars in the yard because of severe electrical issues. I will NEVER own another GM product after this car. The dealership said "you survived the fire. What are you bitching about?" Wtf, GM cares so little for 5 lives?
