I was notified via USPS mail by GM 06/2023 regarding a recall (N232404980 / 23V334) & parts not being currently available. I received a follow-up USPS mail by GM 03/2024 regarding the same recall & parts now being available. I followed up with my Buick dealer 05.24.2024 to request a service appointment. I was told the parts were NOT available & the only way for my vehicle to get fixed was by setting up a "placeholder" appointment to get the parts ordered. This "placeholder" was scheduled for 10.31.2024. I hadn't heard anything & reached back out to the dealer on 08.09.24 & was told the part is still not available & still on order. My vehicle is an older model Buick Enclave (2015) & this is safety recall that can't be completed 1 & 1/2 years AFTER notification (6 months after telling me the parts WERE available). This is getting ridiculous to have to wait to have a SAFETY recall, especially as the issues are more prevalent in older models. And this is also hindering my ability to trade in/resell my vehicle since it's an OPEN recall.

GM Recall N232404980: I was sent a letter in June 2023 about this recall, which stated parts were not currently available to replace the airbag. The letter states that GM will contact me when the part becomes available. On May 8, 2024 I called my local GM dealer to ask about the status of this recall. The dealer said they would have to special order the part and would notify me when it was available. The dealer never notified me and on May 28, 2024 I called the dealer, they checked, and the part had come into the dealership. Today I had the new airbag installed at the dealership. Had I not followed up on this recall I may never have been notifed that the replacement was available. This is totally unaccepable and GM should be held responsible.

The recall was discovered on March 25 by my car insurance company. We stopped driving the vehicle since it is unsafe to drive it until recall is remidied with a new part. I have called GM 3 times as well as 3 different dealerships. GM and one dealership mentioned the vehicle is actually safe to drive its just if you got in accident that it would be a concern! Noone can say when these parts will be in and its already been 3 weeks. The dealerships refuse to offer a loaner and when asked about reimburse for a rental they said to call GM. Gm refused to reimburse for a rental since my car is paid for and out of their warranty. GM nor the dealerships are actually doing anything to fix the car or offer transportation that is safe until it can be fixed.
