Husband and wife were driving on curvy road, approx. 30 mph, when passenger airbag unexpectedly deployed, hitting the wife. Vehicle started filling with smoke. Husband managed to pull off into a parking lot and they evacuated the vehicle. Wife received bruises and cuts on hands and legs from airbag, wedding ring was damaged, and both inhaled smoke. Police were called but would not come to the scene since there was no other vehicle involved. There was no impact or reason for airbag to deploy. Wife was treated by doctor for injuries. Vehicle has not been repaired yet. Also, since that incident, the driver side airbag has also deployed while car was being driven. GM was contacted but no recompense made as of Mar 2010.
The contact owns a 1995 Buick Lesabre. While driving 5 mph in traffic on the highway, the front passenger side air bag spontaneously deployed. A police report was filed. After careful inspection, an investigator concluded that water entered the air bag module, which caused corrosion and unwarranted deployment. A police officer stated that there was no damage to her vehicle that would cause the air bags to deploy. She called the manufacturer and is waiting for a response. The vehicle has not been properly repaired. The failure mileage was 140,000. 4/01/09 the consumer was injured as a result of the air bag deployment. Updated 04/06/09.
1995 Lesabre driver and passenger side air bags deployed without warning while vehicle was in motion. The consumer and his wife suffered minor burns and lacerations.
Consumer states that when braking and without warning the air bag deploy for no reason causing a distraction to the consumer and they was force to pull over. Dealer notified.
Vehicle was involved in a frontal collision at 45 mph, and airbags did not deploy, resulting in minor injuries. Manufacturer has been notified. The horns are inoperable since the accident.
While driving and attempting to make a left turn, vehicle was hit twice on the right side which sent the vehicle into a steel post head-on. Neither air bag deployed. Driver suffered chest, head and neck injuries. Also, passenger sustained injuries. Dealer and manufacturer have been notified.
While traveling at 25 mph, another vehicle came from the right hand side of the road & hit consumer head-on. Upon impact, the airbags deployed, driver's air bag caused the driver to be burned on both forearms, left hand and wrist swelled as a result of air bag impact.
Consumer was driving approx. 25mph when driver's side air bag inadvertantly deployed, blocking her vision, she then lost control of vehicle, causing a four car pile up. Consumer's passenger's side air bag then deployed.
