The contact owns a 1997 Cadillac Deville. For the past two weeks, the air bag light illuminates on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an authorized General Motors dealer and they stated that there were no recalls. The dealer performed a diagnostic, which indicated that there was a defect in the side sensor control module. The dealer stated that nothing could be done at this time; however, they referred him to NHTSA to file a complaint. The failure and current mileages were 92,000. Updated 02-21-08
Air bag warning light comes on. I find that my vehicle has a VIN in the middle of those for which Cadillac has issued a recall fix, but for some reason my vehicle is not eligible. I bought my car used, and it was covered by warranty... why isn't it eligible for recall fixes to safety related items?
