Tried drilling small hole to drain water. Had no effect. Lights are dim. I use high beams mostly for better visibility at night. Other drivers haven’t seem to notice my high beams are on because the light is scattered by the water droplets in the housing assembly. Annoying!!! I was considering an upgrade but I’m not willing to spend so much time at the service center on recalls and $$$$ on dang lights. Don’t get me wrong. I love supporting American businesses, but Cadillac is pushing me towards buying a BMW X6 or the Range Rover for my next luxury vehicle. My buddies aren’t running in for recalls. Did I say annoying already?!?

Headlights are bad. There is moisture in both. Finally left headlight went out and dealer says there is no recall on my model. Now they want $198.00 for just the bulb that costs 6 dollars on eBay. Bulb is not the problem.

2010 SRX Headlights building up condensation / water inside due to unit not being sealed properly. HID headlights cost a lot to replace. Have not fixed yet but working on other solutions. GM knows about this issue and it is a safety issue.

Passenger headlight went out, light comes on says check low beam lamp. took to dealership they say water shorted something out. Probably need a new assembly and it could happen again and will cost $1,500 for only passenger side. I heard the drivers side will eventually have the same problem. * GM* what's going on? Are you going to let your loyal customers go to another auto maker due to not standing behind your products? I am not fixing it right away hoping they will wake up and have a recall. Besides whot has an extra $3000 laying around.

When I purchased this vehicle there was moisture in the passenger headlight, the dealer stated this was a normal condition that happened with many cars. Now the low beam light has burned out and the only fix to keep any more bulbs from burning out is to replace the whole assembly. I see many problems with the passenger side of these Cadillac SRX autos. I had to have the drain tube replaced for the sunroof because the car flooded inside when it rained, now the mirrors will not move after that fix but the dealership stated that mice had chewed through the wiring in the car and caused that short. It didn't happen until after they fixed the wiring due to the water leaking in the sun roof.

SRX SRX 3.2L

Not long after I signed on the dotted line to buy this certified SRX, the water appeared in both lights. As months passed, the water amount increased. I will have to ask an auto repair person to drill a hole at the bottom of each head light on the side facing out towards right and left of the vehicle.

Update from May 19, 2019: The water problem became worse despite the drilled holes for water drainage and the lights dimmed possibly from water stains on the interior of the headlight lens or clear cover. I searched several websites and got two quotes to have both headlamps replaced. All the quoted prices were high. This is the first vehicle I had to replace both headlamps in a vehicle less than 10 years of age. Waited for income tax season to buy new headlamps and pay a mechanic to install them. There is a recall now on the SRX headlamp/lights for those made from years 2010 to 2015: https://www.classaction.org/cadillac-srx-headlight-electrical-problems-lawsuit. Owners of these models who have paid to have their headlamps replaced will be reimbursed. If not, the vehicle owners can have the headlamps replaced at no cost by GMC. I received a letter notice and release form together in the mail March 2019 to be reimbursed for the headlamps and labor. I submitted the release form and receipt of the lights and labor to the sender. Still waiting for my refund check which could take another month or two. It is now May 19, 2019.

Went to have front right low beam replaced, I thought for blown bulb. Was told it was the ballast was burnt out . I was told that the headlight was leaking at the seam. This causes moisture to accumulate causing headlights to go out.I was told that whole headlight assembly needs to be replaced to correct this problem and the cost for both would be about $4,000. This should be a factory defect and should be fixed free of charge by GM. This is a very serious safety problem that could result in serious injury or death. There are dozens of complaints made for the same problem on this vehicle since 2011. This factory problem should be dealt with immediately. I am a senior citizen living on a small income and do not have the money to fix this problem. When I purchased this vehicle I thought I was dealing with a reputable company that would stand behind their product. So far they refuse to fix this problem. Now I have a beautiful 2010 SRX Cadillac that I am afraid to put on the street.

Bought Cadillac 2010 SRX with 62,000 miles. Both headlights have water in them and will not turn on. Went to dinner last night and left restaurant. Both headlights did not work. Driving in the dark with no headlights is not a good felling. Anyone have a fix for this problem? does Cadillac plan on fixing it or am I on my own. Any Information would great be appreciated.

This has been happening since I bought the car used with 86,000 miles or so. Every time it rains, both headlights get a lot of condensation. I have been reading that this can cause the headlights to short out at any time, so I ma always worried about my lights going out. Also, starting yesterday my headlights came on during the day (they are set on auto) for no reason and when they come on the lights on my speedometer, tachometer, etc. go dim or totally off. This happened all day yesterday and today. Every time I get in the car, the auto headlights are turning the lights on and the dash lights off and it's not dark or raining. I am worried that there could be an electrical issue being caused from the condensation in the headlights. These headlights are very expensive to fix and could cause accidents, why has there never been a recall when it seems to be a major issue with the make, model and year of SRX.

Update from Jul 25, 2017: Also headlights do not work well at night and the low beams are horrible. Is there any kind of recall or lawsuit to fix this issue?

water in lights

Went to the dealership thinking I just needed to have a bulb replaced and they tell me that I need an entire headlight assembly replacement due to the condensation build-up. They say my light does work when they tap it but the condensation is causing it to malfunction. I asked how did the condensation get inside, they couldn't really tell me and mentioned the sealant. I asked if it could be wiped out and re-sealed - Nope!

The cost is over $1400: $1200 for the part and $75 for labor. I checked out ebay motors and they sell the same headlight assembly in price ranges of $100-$800. I'm really confused as to why Cadillac's is so costly. After reading all of these complaints now I'm PISSED that Cadillac is doing nothing about this obvious oversight of poor construction. This is dangerous and they obviously know about this issue yet no recall has been granted!

The headlight went out and I could see condensation inside the lens. The Cadillac dealership said it would cost us $1600 to seal the leaks and replace the lights that had shorted out on the driver side. Luckily my husband had the time to tear it all apart, seal it and replace parts. It was a 6-8 hour job and he spent over $300 on parts. Two months later, the other headlight went out so he has to do it all again. And now the driver window isn't going up and down smoothly. Only 68,000 miles on this vehicle. Very disappointed in Cadillac.

Headlights were filling with water and condensation. Called Cadillac and was told there was nothing they could do. About 3 weeks after that while driving at night left headlight went out, then the right. Could not see and went off road into ditch. Brought car home called Cadillac again and told them what happened. They told me to call dealer. Dealer said I would have to buy 2 new lights at $1200.00 each, without labor. Can't afford that, so took headlights out of car. The ballasts were filled with water. Took headlights apart and resealed them with silicone. Replaced ballasts and bulbs. Bought parts off Ebay. Headlights have not leaked since. Cadillac should recall these. If I were to of been hurt when I went in ditch I would of sued. This is dangerous and is a manufacturing design flaw.

Received a notification to "Check Right Low Beam Lamp" while we were driving to Yosemite at night in a storm. Once I was able to pull over at a gas station I noticed that the passenger side headlight had condensation inside. Further research and it sounds like this is a MAJOR issue for these cars. This car has always been garaged, well maintained and no front end damage. Unbelievable that at 78,xxx miles we are running in to this problem. This does not sit well for me. I've called in to our local dealership which they advised me to take pictures and they will submit a claim to GM. In process.
