The contact owns a 2011 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated that the navigation system failed to work and indicated that the route calculated was incorrect. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer in Canada who updated the software and installed a new antenna; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was then taken to an authorized dealer in the United States who provided a software update and the ECM controls were replaced, but the repairs did not remedy the failure. The contact received a customer satisfaction notice from the manufacturer, which was unable to be honored since the vehicle had a salvaged title. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 48,000.
