The car caught on fire after changing the oil at walmart. The car towed to the Cadillac dealer, and no compensation were giving. No recall were receive until last week.
Concerns with fuel rail problem that may cause engine fire. Consumer received a recall for the fuel rail and received an appointment for Friday, August 13, 2004 to have the recall performed. When the consumer arrived, he learned the repair shop were all out of the replacement parts.
1995 Cadillac - I smelled a strong odor of gasoline. After taking to service station, they diagnosed as a faulty fuel rail system, and the repair was both expensive and the problem a dangerous one.
A smell of gasoline entered the passenger cabin. Vehicle was immediately taken to the dealer, who found that the fuel rail was leaking gasoline, and dealer replaced the fuel rail.
While driving the consumer smelled fuel. The fuel rail developed a leak, and fuel leaked all over the engine compartment. The fuel rail cross over pipe between the fuel injectors, developed a pressure fuel leak, as a result the fuel sprayed onto the engine. GM claimed to have no record of the problem. When the consumer picked up the vehicle from the dealer, he noticed the dealer hadn't installed the identical part. The dealer stated GM changed the part due to problems with the fuel rail. There was a noise in the engine area due to a failed water pump. The tail lamp bulbs failed also.
