I purchased my 1997 Astro luxury van in 2000. It had 91,000 on it. Was fine for first year, then check engine light came on. Put in repair shop, added a sensor. Then fuel pump went, put new one costing over 950.00 part and labor with a lifetime warranty on pump, it lasted one year, went out again/had new one installed from different company. Then the lift gate struts let lose allowing the real heavy door fall down on my shoulders and head. I couldn't locate them anywhere in years, so I finally got a used set that were good and put them on. They worked fine for 3 lifts and after it was below 0 here for the temperature they quit working again. This van is in new condition still and I would like to have them working. I feel it is a factory defect. The driver side electric window has also been acting up and I have heard some of these are recalls but so far can't find out if mine is one of them that sets the van on fire. Does anyone have any info?
