I noticed one day that when I was driving, and sometimes when I was braking that my wheel would start to shake uncontrollably. Sometimes it would stop if I braked, other times I got worse. When the wheel would shake, it would often tilt to one side, usually towards the driver window. I took it into a mechanic that I did not know (this is my fault, but I just wanted it fixed and was afraid to drive home). He told me I needed a wheel alignment, which he did and the problem was fixed... or so I thought. Read on for the additional complaints!

This is hopefully my last complaint in this section about my car. I apologize that I do not know much about cars or what things are called, but want to pass on my dilemmas and cursing days to others who might benefit. After 3 wheel alignments, snow tires, regular tires, a spiral thing being changed, I was still not fixed. My steering wheel started shaking uncontrollably again and shifting to one side. Now, the speedometer would not go down as I was breaking. Also, my car started making a grinding noise. Finally fed up, I took the car to my boyfriend's mechanic aid $550 later they figured it out. My car basically needed all new stuff under the hood. I am not sure what they did but the description they gave me said that my one brake was basically locked up. So even when my foot wasn't on the brake, my one brake was closed and metal on metal was rubbing. The mechanic said there were actual sparks (he took it for a test drive and smelt smoke) and said I was lucky the car did not catch on fire. As for the speedometer and wheel shaking issue. When I would brake, the car would not register that I was braking. Because the one brake was always locked up, my car was pulling what it needed to pull for 60 mph for only 30 mph. When I would brake and slow down, the speedometer wouldn't go down and the wheel would continue to shake because the car thought i was going 60 mph not 30 mph. FINALLY fixed!

This would be my third complaint on this issue. So, after getting two wheel alignments, snow tires on my car, and something else (coil type thing) replaced I thought it was fixed- not! All my car savvy people were out of town one week and the problems started up again. I took my car to Sears and they told me it was definitely an alignment issue AGAIN, even brought out pictures and everything, so I got that fixed... but it was not fixed JUST YET! One more complaint I will post...

This is my second complaint regarding this issue. Please see my other one from October. After the wheel alignment failed, I took my car to a well known car place. They told me that I needed another wheel alignment, that it was probably my tires (I had to get my snows on anyway) and some other thing (the part was a huge coil). My car was in the shop for 3 days, and $500 later I was happy that my car was fixed... or so I thought! There are 2 additional complaints I am adding to this section.

I both my car 2006, august and from the beginning I noticed that it goes to the left side. But I thought I was to sensitive because it was a new car. After a few months I went to the service and they told me that it was a problem with the tires. Because I bought this car with this tires I told them to give me new tires. I still have the warranty. They told me to buy new tires which I wouldn't. Then they have done some checking of the geometry and told me that everything is O.K..... They finally changed the "selen-blocks" thinking that would be a solution but it wasn't. I think they are waiting for my warranty to end so it would be only my problem. I wrote to General Motors. They couldn't help me either. I don't know what to do. I still have this problem. And my car goes to the left...
