The brake lights on this vehicle stop working when the STOP/DRL fuse blows. When the brake lights fail, the shift interlock also fails and the vehicle cannot be shifted out of Park, and the ignition key becomes trapped. This creates a dangerous situation where the vehicle cannot be safely moved and other drivers cannot see when the vehicle is braking.

This problem began in October 2025 and has occurred repeatedly. Replacing the fuse temporarily restores the brake lights and shift interlock, but the fuse blows again, causing the same failure. The battery and charging system were tested by AAA and confirmed to be in good condition, indicating an electrical defect.

These symptoms match GM TSB 08-07-129-001B and GM Recall 14V261000 regarding DRL module overheating and electrical failure affecting lighting and the shift interlock.
